New Drambo Patch - NOISEMACHINE V1 - Make Glitchy and Experimental Sounds
Hey ya'll! I just wanted to share a patch I've been working on for the past couple days. It's called NOISEMACHINE. You load some samples into it to create weird, glitchy and experimental sounds using mostly flexi samplers and S&H LFOs to modulate the pitch and speed of the playheads. There's also some built in effects that you can toggle on and off. I had a lot of fun making it! I've always wanted to create sounds like this on my iPad but couldn't really figure out a good way to do it until I started playing around with Drambo a few days ago after watch some videos on making glitchy sounds. I took some aspects from those videos and incorporated some of my own to make this. I put some instructions in the patch itself and also in the patchstorage description.
It works really well with percussive samples and loops but you could also try it with melodic loops or samples to make some weird stuff.

Thank you! Yeah I’m really happy with how it turned out. Made a couple sloppy versions of it over the past couple days but today finally made something that works well. Figuring out the gate switch + sound selection tab (especially figuring out a good way to incorporate all the options of the sound selection along with the 3 samplers being in a layers module) took a few failed attempts but I finally figured out something that worked well. It was definitely inspired by some of the sounds artists like Iglooghost, Kai Winston and sv1 make. I’ve always been so intrigued by their sound design but could never figure out to create something that sounds glitchy but also organic at the same time so I’m happy I figured this out and hopefully I’ll be building upon it in the future!

Yeah it's definitely a little complicated and you dont totally get full control because a lot of things are being modulated randomly, but there's at least some way to dial it in a tiny bit. Lemme know if you have any questions!

@itsaghost I like it’s a bit untamable. Cool study too. I’m listening to how things get repeated. Actually I’m using it as an ‘instrument’ on 3 tracks, each with only 1 sample loaded, as opposed to on 1 track with 3 samples. Each track with different effects, ie delays, reverbs etc. I’ll see if I can find something to post, but I’m more of constant tweaker/experimenter as a composer 😆
