Auria crackling when recording audio. Please help?
I have a new iPad Air 2020 with IOS 14 and amusing a Motu M2.
I created a 48k project with two audio tracks. On one I recorded a click track from another app using IAA without crackles. I then recorded a guitar track using a mic through the M2 and got random crackles and pops. I tested again by just recording nothing but me saying, “testing” now and then and no crackles and pops were present.
The Auria settings were set to a 512 buffer but in parenthesis, it shows the buffer at 279.
No other apps are running. No effects used, not even the Auria channel strip.
Any ideas?

Have you tried other buffer sizes?
Does the input level have an impact?
Are the crackles/pops in the recorded files or something that happens on playback but isn't in the files. You can test this by opening the audio files in something else.
Are you able to record without crackles with these settings in another app such as AUM?
@Sabicas Give more details about your settings and metering. Are you saying the crackles and pops happen only when recording guitar into the mic? Is the input gain set too high or does the motu’s metering screen stay in the green when you play? Is the phantom power button off? What is the metering in auria showing? Is the crackling actually from the IAA capture/playback? Have you tried the exact same set up but with 44.1/88.22? I have found some IAA apps crackle at certain sample rates. Is the crackling and popping happening during playback or during recording?
I have a 2020 Pro and the m4 and been using Auria pro the past few days with zero issues. Didn’t use IAA though, and was in 44.1. just to say your hardware and daw pairing should be crackle free.
Sorry for forgetting about this thread. After a LOT of experimentation, I’ve determined the culprit is 48k sample rate.
This is simply recording a dry acoustic guitar with a condenser microphone. If I create a brand new project with no other tracks, no effects or anything, and try to record in 48K come up with something like 1% on the CPU meter and a 500+ buffer, there are random crackles regardless of whatever recording level or how hard or soft I play. It crackles when I simply say “testing 123” or just when I simply record the ambient noise of the room. Meter never even hits yellow.
I started another thread where I asked about 44 vs 48k.

In retrospect, When I made the switch to 48k is when all of my issues began. I suddenly had a lot more crashing and thought I had lost a project one point.
I went back through my earlier project that I completed smoothly and found that I actually recorded it all in 44k.
