#029 Jan The Man
I found a patch (ARP Docking Bassline KS) in SynthMaster One a few days ago that immediately made me think of the Miami Vice theme by the great keyboard player Jan Hammer (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham, Jeff Beck etc).
After a few days of messing about I couldn't work it into the piece so it bit the dust and the piece morphed into this. Still dedicated to him though.
Pretty happy with the music but mixing is not my thing. Currently on lesson 3 of Michael White's excellent YT Videos!

That’s good. I’d EQ the guitar.
Thanks @LinearLineman . My level of knowledge is such that I will now have to Google EQ to find out what to do. Good job there is nothing else to do these days...
That makes me remember Jan Hammer's sound. When they started trading 4 in the Mahavishnu Orchestra you had to see them to know if it was guitar, synth or violin
sometimes. Jan really mastered the pitch bend wheel to emulate a guitar player.
Thanks @McD , just the feel I was going for. Strangely I tried quite a few Moog patches but finished up using Guitar Overdrive Lead from Roli Noise.
I think we must be of a similar vintage as I just found your post in the ‘Your Favourite Musical Moment?’ thread. I also saw the Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1973 although in a slightly less exotic location than you I.e. Manchester. The energy they played with was staggering. JM has been my favourite guitarist ever since.
