World Instruments on Ios/world synth/GarageBand instruments/suona samples
Does anyone know of any plans to bring more ethnic asian etc instruments to iOS? Particularly expressive ones. It would be great to close the gap on east west silk. I have some files, for ThumbJam, world synth beathawk stuff but what would be cool is:
- any info about world synth new packs
- Same for garageband world instruments, the erhu is just amazingly expressive
- Anyone know any amazing soundfonts for asian instruments in particular but any odd ethnic ones
I really really want to get hold of a good suona for those that know what that is.. absolutely love how it sounds! Thanks
Oh I just remembered the iSymphonic ethnic stuff but I didn’t think it sounded great

A.R. Rahman's Colours of India pack in Noise is really gorgeous. Only four instruments, and comes free with Equator on desktop, but worth splashing actual money on.
You can have a look at TaqSim.
Drumjam for percussive instruments.
Beathawk has some ,”ethnic”, sounds from loops to instruments.
Have a look.
And of course the Asian instruments in GeoShred.
Swarplug
World synth aka Taqsim is excellent. SynthMaster Player has a world sounds inapp with a great shakuhachi.
ThumbJam has a nice shak too.
This is the only shaq you need:

Alternatively SoundFonts player and world instrument libraries which are a
lot in the web. Some are free, some commercial.
