iMIDIPatchbay - £6.99 / $9.99

iMIDIPatchbay has just gone on sale. Down to £6.99 / $9.99

I don't own this app, but info may be useful to some.

Would be interesting to hear how people are using this. It appears to be mainly useful for hardware owners but are any of you using this virtually?

It looks like a comprehensive way to split keyboard zones.

Edit: Just saw a note about this sale being TODAY only.

NewEdit:(14/7/14) This is now a permanent price drop, with IAPs for extra functionalities.

  • The dev is a member of the iPad Musician FB group and is chatting a little about it over there for any of you who are also members there. Here's a link to the site which gives some good info. http://www.imidipatchbay.com/ and also Johannes (the dev) shared this:

"There is a short video on youtube that shows this with NLog and Magellan: "

I'm here as well, so feel free to ask questions. Btw., I recorded a video yesterday which shows how to setup a split with two synth apps:

  • Arg! Just missed the sale!! If it happens to go back on sale for another day, I'll buy it! Just a little FYI... ;)

  • iMIDIPatchbay is now permanently at that price, but with IAP for some features ("set lists" and "multiple masters"). If you don't need them anyway, it's like the easter sale is back :)

  • Can i control 4 apps at once with imidipatchbay?

  • When changing a scene, it will change presets on apps that support the function?

  • It will change presets for any apps that support MIDI program change.

I took the plunge last night and managed to successfully set it up with Sampletank, Thumbjam and iSem. I've been looking for an app to route MIDI for live performance and thought this might be the ticket, but I'm a little underwhelmed feature-wise after playing with MIDIBridge. This app makes a few things easier (like filtering out messages per channel) but is nowhere near as flexible as the mighty Stream Byter.

What I would love to see in iMIDIPatchbay is more thorough CC management. I would like to be able to use a single CC from my keyboard to control multiple CCs simultaneously, with min/max limits (or better yet a programmable map, similar to Turnado's Dictator feature) on the CCs being outputted. This should be on a per-song basis obviously. It would make balancing different sound sources and morphing between sounds much easier. This is mostly possible using Stream Byter but is a nightmare to program (especially in the middle of a rehearsal :P).

  • Good news for you is that I'm exactly working on that. However, I cannot give a release date for the next version yet. I'll keep you updated :)

  • Removed the "SALE (today only)" part of thread title.

  • @JohannesD that's great news! My live setup is still in the works so I'll be very eager to see what you come up with.

  • In case you missed it, I recorded a video about the app. It includes only real hardware devices (and no synth apps), but sending Program Changes is same anyway:

  • Cool. This is the app i was looking for.

    Hi there,
I have 1 NordStage, 1 Korg TR, 1 Novation, 1 nanoControl, on them, I have (on each Controller) 1 sustain pedal, 1 expression pedal, 1 Switch pedal.
All is to control the NordStage (with 2 split ie), the Korg (2 or 3 splits) + a Yam. XS Rack (up to 8 or 10 differents sounds -midi chanel 1 to 10).
I use to send a Pedal for different founction, depending of the Song. As now, I use Mainstage. do you think iMidiPatchbay can suit my applications ?
And which Midi interface to use with a iPad Air ?
Thanks in advance for your help

  • Can you save patches for apps?

    In part, LAUNCHKEY APP.

I want to save presets there and wonder if this app will do that?

  • Is this now called midiflow?

midiflow is a separate app by the same developer, imidipatchbay is geared towards live playing. I'm unsure of all of the differences between the two.
