Virtual instruments

So I was wondering if among these compatible apps if there are virtual instruments? And would you be able to use them along with a chord based loop creator. And if so, how would you do it? Any formula suggestions?

Could you clarify "compatible apps" and "virtual instruments"?

Are you referring to Audiobus compatibility? Because that includes pretty well everything now.

And every iOS synth app is pretty much a virtual instrument, whether it's sample-based, a physical simulation, or a straight synthesizer. There are probably hundreds that work with Audiobus.

The simplest answer to the virtual instruments question is probably a sound font player such as Bismark bs-16i. Sound fonts are collections of short recordings of real instruments, which can be played back with a keyboard or sequencer. You can download lots and lots of sound fonts for free on the internet, and bs-16i comes with some of it's own. Some are of great quality.

Synthesized virtual instruments (created by synthesis rather than sampling) are more rare and usually not as realistic.

As for chord the chord based loop creator ... that's a less straightforward question to answer, other than to say "yes". There are tons of options. To provide suggestions, it would help to know a little more clearly how you picture using something like that. (Would you want to play just one note, and have a chord come out? Or would you like it to generate chords for you? Or just record chords that you play on a keyboard, and loop them, etc...)

Like a melody within that chord

Sorry, that doesn’t clarify anything enough for me to try to help.

I suggest you look into GarageBand. It is one of the easiest apps to learn and includes a great selection of instruments and tools. Plus, it’s free.
