Cubasis 2....bad for vocal recording compared to Garage Band
Must say that GB is better...after many tries vocal recording...
Just getting stuttering in signal with Cubasis 2 quite often...
CPU load moderate...
No stuttering in GB...
What’s up Steinberg?!
Thanks....

Sorry l posted on this subject before....There is definitely a difference between these two DAWs for vocals...
GarageBand uses quite a lot of live-processing plug-ins to make the vocals sound good
I've not experienced 'stuttering' in Cubasis, sounds like the buffer size it set too low?
Thanks Samu...it’s on ‘ultra low’. Will try next setting up next time...completed project with reasonable results in the end.....
Hi @IOSSOS,
Thanks for your message.
Choosing "Ultra Low" leads to shorten latency, but consume more CPU power.
Alongside, the CMP piano seems to be a complex AU instrument which on top easily can increase the system load drastically.
Please give the vocal recording another check, after you've chosen a higher latency value, and you've either (a) frozen the CMP piano track or (b) replaced it with a MicroSonic piano sound. Check the same for other feasible 3rd party instruments or effects plug-ins, which are invisible here.
Here are some additional tipps and tricks (even if some has been written for Cubasis 3, the basic improvements work the same for Cubasis 2):
Cubasis 3 Performance Issues
Limitations of Audio Unit extensions
Please let me know about your results!
P.S.: If the problem can be resolved by this, I would be very glad to see the topic title changed, since it easily conveys a wrong impression.
Thanks in advance!
Best wishes
& stay well,
Lars
Again ..just in the middle of a project..vocal stuttering returns....despite being fine for a few days..with latency set to low instead of ultra low...
Garage Band no issues.
What is going on in Cubasis 2 please?
Thanks anyone who knows...
Recorded vocals was playing back fine earlier on....now just stutters......wtf
