Concert Harp with GeoSWAM Cello, Clarinet, Oboe and Flute
I have just made this video after getting the GeoSWAM instruments. So enjoyable to play. A wonderful collaboration between two developers. I didn’t think I’d use the Oboe much but have fallen in love with it. Hope anyone thinking about buying them takes the plunge as they are excellent (in my humble, non acronym, opinion).

This is excellent and very realistic. Some details, please. What controller or are you playing on the glass? Thanks for a decent oboe rendering, finally! What is this “Concert Harp”? I’d love to hear you do some Klezmer!
@LinearLineman thank you. I play the glass screen but I have a Behringer FCB1010 which has 2 expression pedals. I set one for formant and the other for expression. The harp is a Cecilia 47. Set it to a harmonic minor scale and suddenly I’m in Eastern Europe 👍
Nice to know we have a real harp player here!
@LinearLineman i dunno about ‘real’ but I’m having a good stab at it...
@rud This is absolutely wonderful. So cool. Keep them coming
@mjcouche thank you, I haven’t used any other apps since I got the SWAM instruments and I’m looking forward to making more. Might have to get some brass and noodle around with them as well 👍
What a wonderful instrument. Then you found a way to use IOS to flesh out a complete
ensemble. We have such great tools. The SWAM instruments sound right at home next to the real Harp.
Now I want a SWAM Harp... or a UVI Harpenstein 275: modeled or sampled.
Maybe I'll google for an SFZ and import into AudioLayer as a quick fix.
@McD it is a dream come true to have these tools. I’ve got stuff like iSymphonic and SampleTank Miroslav but this is the first time I’ve felt that I can use a solo instrument over the harp. These are good times for making music 👍
FYI: I found a "Harp Piano" sample set at PianoBook.co.uk and imported all the notes into AudioLayer and it sounded really bad. So, I tried using 4 notes distributed across the key range and it sounded a lot better:
Really excellent Ian! If you are going to put up more vids like these I think you could maybe approach Audio Modeling for some free copies of bundles - video demos like these are great advertising
@McD the harp piano was very interesting and I wasn’t aware of pianobook. After I listened to your piece I wondered about the harp in ThumbJam. Then I wondered about routing it to Touchscaper. And then I made this short video. I love how Touchscaper has the option to move to another chord when you release your fingers from the screen. @moodscaper
Cheers @Gavinski that’d be interesting. I do fancy a bit of classical guitar with their trumpet.
@Rud, love that first track. nice that it is a bit different to the norm on the forum. I’m a big fan of touchscaper and the Harp in ThumbJam. More please!
I think the best option is still AddStation. Perfect for this kind of sound.
Lovely mix of joy and melancholy
Wonder if Geoshred can do a decent harp maybe
Nice sounding piece!
I am very curious about purchasing the cello, violin or one of the wind instruments for upcoming projects, and wanting to take the plunge. I'll start a new thread about detail questions.
A detailed question about your setup - what does formant control do to the instrument sound?
Oops, just replied to your thread before reading this. Formant is, I believe, like getting your clarinetist/oboeist(?)/saxophonist to pull faces when playing to get that ‘eeeooouuu’ sound. It’s quite subtle but effective.
@Krupa @GeoTony thanks for watching. Defo want to do more.
