Using midi to Ipad without midi interface, is it possible only with lightning cable?
Hello
Before I read that an IOS update would enable connecting the IPAD to a PC or MAC with the lightning cable to show up as a midi IN / OUT source without using an separate USB midi interface.
Was this ever realized? Is it possible?
Comments
For MacOS anyway, it's possible using "IDAM". Video below breaks it down. Not sure about win/linux, sorry. StudioMux maybe?
In Linux world there is this:

and Windows: https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/rtpmidi.html
I spend most of my time in Mac world so yep, IDAM is solid for this (as I guess you would hope being the same company and all).
On a Mac this works fine, I use this to connect my iPad to mainstage. Works great.
I use without problem midimittr on ipad and the counterpart s-r-n.de/midile/ on windows 10, only lightning cable plugged in a usb hub.
