App store gift card question / auto deduct issue

edited February 2021 in General App Discussion

So is there a way to stop app subscriptions that i have like hulu, icloud etc to not deduct from my app store gift card but rather the bank card i have attached to my Apple id?
I got a giftcard for my bday but i don’t want to spend it all this month, i want it to be there when i need an app and not watch it get slowly reduced to nothing by Hulu
The wife dosent understand all the app purchases i must make so i don’t want them coming from the account 😂
Please send help!

Yes in App Store click on your Icon in the upper right corner, then click on subscriptions. Oops I spoke before I read the whole post. But you probably have to cancel auto renew through Apple, and go to the website and change payment info.

  • @reasOne Don't think so. The card is like a credit balance in your account; it'll be drawn down until it's gone. You could buy yourself a gift card for the recurring purchases. How good are you at 'splaining? Because that may take some talent.

  • Option #1 Splaining, lol.

Option #2 Maybe you could create a 2nd Apple ID, you might not have access to apps purchased on the old Apple ID, or did Apple recently change that.... But maybe create a second one just to set up all your personal subscriptions.

Option #3 You could link whatever subscriptions you want directly to your personal checking account, if the money goes from there to iTunes Account anyways. However if your like me, I’m very hesitant to put my bank info anywhere, and I refrain from using most banking apps everyone else seems to have. I could see not wanting to connect your info the multiple subscription services.

Option #4 - Guessing here, I don’t know much about it, but I wonder if Apple Wallet can help in some way.

Ya i dunno with wallet either, i usually have problems with it anyway haha
LOL option 1 is looking the easiest at this point... all the charges that go to the fam i still get to spend later 😅😎
I may have to change everything to not be from Apple account , the whole thing is ridiculous that you can’t separate em!!
    Thanks for the help dude
