Does anybody use Troublemaker for non-acid sounds?
Wondering if anybody uses Troublemaker in an unexpected way or sounds you wouldn’t really associate with the 303?
I’m not a huge acid fan and this is the only Bram Bos app I don’t have. Is Troublemaker worth it for someone like me?

The Bass Guitar preset sounds really thick, I used it for boom bap bass lines all the time
I use the Bass Guitar preset for lots of motorik basslines.
I use it for other bass sounds often - sometimes but not often, with the custom waveforms. I find that backing off on the filter, resonance, and distortion can yield a good "lite" bass part that sits nicely in the mix when you want something subtle. I can get a bit of bass feel without stomping on a bunch of other frequencies. The kind of bass line that adds flavor and movement without necessarily being noticed.
Interesting! How would the subtle bass differ from what you can get with Ripplemaker?
probably not a lot. I just don't think of Ripplemaker that much other than when I want to tinker. I'll grab Troublemaker when I just want to try out something super quick. Sometimes it turns out to be just what I needed. Others it doesn't fit, but then I haven't lost any time other than messing with three knobs. With Ripplemaker I'd probably divert for two hours into sound design.
Wish Bram would make Troublemaker a Desktop Instrument.., It’s the ultimate bass for me..
Troublemaker is great for funky bass parts....especially combined with the Rozeta Bassline sequencer like the one in the TM stand alone...adding some random mods. Is it ok to post videos here? I just made a 1 min Instagram vid of an iPad funk jam where Troublenaker really sounds good...baccharismusic on Instagram, most recent post if you want to hear it there.
Post away my friend!
Ok thanks!
Nice!! You guys have convinced me, off to the AppStore I go..
Beautiful..
Sounds good, @baccharis!
Yeh, nice jam.
Plus ... just gotta love anything that uses Sector.
Thanks all! And have fun with your new bass sounds @Keenan
Yeah just got into Sector...love it
I love it for funk, a slower tempo and some swing and it’s like Bootsy playing bass with an envelope filter
