Q regarding Drambo‘s workflow
According to the manual one can edit a step via the „edit“ button. How is the workflow for changing a step‘s note? There is a dedicated „Transpose“ button but what does this do in the real world? There‘s a video from Jakob HaQ implying that one can not edit the note...
Comments
This is false..
1) Tap 'edit'
2) tap the desired trig in the sequencer. all active notes on that trig will be highlighted
3) add notes by by tapping new ones, remove notes by tapping highlighted ones
Alternatively, you can just tap and hold a step, then press a key to change it's note.
'Transpose' is a step condition. It's a way to add micro adjustments to your sequence. You can even randomize or cycle the transpose function (so it transposes the selected step once every 4 patterns, or has a probability of 25% to be transposed, for example)
edit: oh, the transpose button. That will immediately transpose any highlighted note by +/- 1-7 semitones, or octaves. If you highlight the entire sequence, then you can transpose the whole sequence.
There are lots of ways to transpose things in Drambo: step conditions, the transpose edit button, a transpose midi module, a cv pitch module, etc.
Thanx a lot - i was hoping for that answer!
I was wondering how I can transpose a chord in a sequence without transposing everything in that clip. Also is there a way to copy the chord of one pad to another ?
You can just P lock transpose a single chord. (tap the chord and move the transpose knob)
Or you can just move it on the piano roll.
Not sure what you mean by the last bit!
Hi, I mean if I make a chord or note on a step and want to transpose it up or down on mother step without manually moving and changing the notes. Also if I can copy a step from step to step.
Thanks
Several options available...
In step sequencer you can transpose the whole clip - clip properties / Edit tab
or transpose only a selection - enable Select tool > make selection > from the popup menu on the second page choose up/down buttons for semitone changes
same popup menu is also available if you tap and hold section in navigation bar - in this case transpose will apply to that section
Excellent.! Thx
Thanks for this as well @0tolerance4silence
