Sample with IOS . how do you do it?
I have lots of great samplers on IOS. but I have always noticed a lack of sample access in the ios ecosystem.
1.where do you guys buy your samples?
2. do you download them to file folder on your device,or stream them from a service?
3. can you buy samples anywhere with itunes credits?
Comments
There’s nothing different about working with samples on iOS really. Individual apps have their own ‘libraries’ just like desktop apps. For instance, you need to import samples into Drambo before making kits. No biggie. The only real problem I see is that different apps handle importing samples better than others.
hmm very interesting. nice to know with Files on ios, it’s easier to organize.
what websites do you buy from?
Yup samples are samples, usually in wav format, can typically be used anywhere. I’m always on the lookout for free samples and sample deals. And once in a blue moon I’ll buy something, like the Sample from Mars everything pack on sale around the holidays was a steal of a deal.
Right now Reverb.com has a FREE PACK of over 50 classic drum machine sounds, 53 to be exact, retail almost $700, As well as free Hitsville USA drums & free Multisamples of a few synths. All the Reverb packs listed here are Free at the moment.

There are a couple threads on this forum where people share free or discounted samples. One is “2021 samples and plug-ins sales” the other is the “the free sample fodder” thread.
There’s also some great websites that post sample deals and freebies...One of my favorites is below, this also has plug-ins, software etc...
https://www.audiopluginguy.com/deals/
I also just do some googling for free samples, and find all kinds of stuff. I do like to check the files before I download with Virus Total https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload just to ensure they are safe to download.
I keep everything In Audioshare, then I decide whether to keep on device, or move to an external HD, depending on how much I like the samples.
Samples from Mars is a good one with high quality stuff. Holiday deal you get every pack for $39.
More good free ones from MusicRadar - https://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/free-music-samples-royalty-free-loops-hits-and-multis-to-download
I download zip file to Files, then share the zip file to audioshare, then unpack the zip file and listen in audioshare.
Cymatics.fm has some good free and paid stuff. Here’s the link to the free packs. https://cymatics.fm/pages/free-download-vault
oh wow this is a great assortment of sample links thanks so much!! you kick ass. i’m gonna dig into these right away. thanks
Freebies from Goldbaby and Legowelt are good too, and there's plenty more in the Free Sample Fodder thread
If you have a desktop DAW, look in its library.
And if you're dinking about with synths and fx chains in AUM or wherever and you hear something and think, "Oh, I like that," hit record.
Yeah, there’s so much free sample content out there it’s crazy. I’m an admitted sample hoarder. I REALLY don’t need to buy anything else at this point. I have several lifetimes worth of samples. But..... I still do. I really like all the stuff from Riemann Kollektion, Four4, Sample Magic, among many others (I find new stuff daily). Really just depends on your genre and taste. There’s something out there for everyone.
