Beathawk ambient pack/droning... or droning in Aphelian

UVi has an ambient pack for Beathawk which is marketed as having drone sounds. However I’m trying to understand whether BH can actually drone continuously... like any sequencer, BH’s notes terminate at the end of the final bar of the grid step editor so result is not continuous - at least as far as I can see. Looping is not a continuation of the same note. Can anyone clarify?

** extending question to Aphelian as another sequencer option I’m considering using .... can Aphelian play a single note indefinitely? Like a synth latch/hold, again for drone purposes **

Yes, BH built in sequencer is pattern based, but you can ignore that and feed it with sustained note(s).

Thanks - is there any way to do that without holding down key on h/w midi controller? What I want to get to is a setup where i can change the drone’s pitch on the fly through a single button press (e.g. let’s say the whole track is changing key). Would love to use BH’s patterns for that but then I lose note continuity

  • For this purpose I wouldn’t use BH patterns.
You can latch note with f.e
    https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/midi-tools/id1446209019
Or you can use virtual keyboard (Mononoke pads, KB-1) to handle it.
Or you can go nuclear with f.e Drambo :)
