How stupid

Sometimes Iv factory reset a pc ( windows 8.1 )

It just automatically reinstalls.

My bro asked why his computer were slow so I said Id just factory reset.

This is windows 10.

On factory reset option. It could reset but just delete files.

Or reset if you wish to recycle.

Now I moved the curser as to choose. Either it were highlighted or not.

I guess now the option to not move curser would have been the correct reset because now its just saying sandisk on boot. Guessing sandisk is just the hard drive and its wiped of operating system.

Does this sound like the case. Options? Does it sound like it needs windows 10 from a usb ( which will likely need to be bought?

wtf.

Sounds like he created a recovery drive on a Sansdisk USB stick. You need to connect it and power up. Also, if it's a branded system, like HP or Dell, it may have an internal recovery mode (hidden partitions). You could check their documentation on the web.

Dont have a clue about machines. Asked if theres usb. It boots to sandisk and enter dosent do anything.Went to bios but its just options. Maybe its some 32gb. Maybe not enough gb to reinstall or something. Maybe he took to a shop or something before.

If someone asks for computer help. I will say' cant help. Which is true.

  • Started to boot in legacy/non legacy. UEfi etc but wouldnt know but hes gone now. Wonder if a shop created problem as he would have just gone to shops when bought ( paying them money etc ) Now more money.

Could it be a shop ( if he took machine to shop ) created partitians so it hasent reset etc. He wouldnt have changed any settings himself.

  • Boot the pc into Bios, and look if there is a recovery mode in it.
