AU acoustic drum app

edited March 2021 in General App Discussion

are there any AU drums apps that aren’t electronic drums? I’m looking for an acoustic drum kit to play in AUM.
i love groovebox, but I want to save my aum session without having to reload IAA drums apps like groovebox.

Not AU though, except for the player. OP was asking for an AU to have state saving.

  • The acoustic drums iap in BeatHawk are the best au acoustic drums on iOS.

IMO EG Pulse is the least distracting in terms of extra features. They're there, but if you just want to get up and running with some acoustic samples on pads, its not too hard to ignore the bells 'n whistles.

DigiStix has the edge over Pulse for realism if you want to have velocity layers, round robin, etc.

GR-16 is on par with Pulse as a drum machine, but the added features are more right in your face.

Drambo ... can be super simple as a straightforward drum sample player, but is very, very tempting to complicate.

    That is very true!

  • yeah beathawk is to bad. i’m also thinking maybe i should just load a bunch of drum one shots in koala and trigger it from atom2. or maybe make a drum loop in groovebox and trigger the loop on koala.

Koala is a great option if all you want to do is trigger some samples. The best drum app for you depends a lot on what features you need.

  • true. i’ll have to test a few and see what works out

As a 100% acoustic drums user, I’d say the only acceptable drums are Garage Band ones.

Another solution is to use sample loops (I recently bought Loop Loft Platinum Pack which is on sale https://www.thelooploft.com/collections/drum-loops/products/the-platinum-pack). It’s really good but no so flexible.

For my own use, quality depends on a ratio between sample quality, flexibility and ease of use.

I have tried many other solutions, I always come back to GB.

Also I pray that AcousticSamples will release their acoustic drum app 😍

no way, they are working on an app?
