BM3 loop....records outside loop markers
Hello.
Why does a 1 bar loop record beyond the one bar..if you’re not careful.
Bug?

If you're in the timeline it's assuming you want to keep going to the timeline. Open the pattern and record with it open to record only inside the loop.
Likewise, when you record automation while in the timeline, the automation gets recorded to "Track Automation" along the timeline. If you want to record pattern-based automation (that moves if you move the pattern), you also open the pattern in the piano roll editor.
To me it's a good way to do things. For many it just causes confusion.
Thanks wim...
In pattern recording is fine..better to do recording of patterns this way.
In song recording the loop boundary is not adhered to if you accidentally record at the very end of last beat.
What would also be good is an option to delete all patterns in a track, and not one by one...
Lasso all and Remove?
Still records beyond loop markers....even recording pattern mode.
I create a 2 bar pattern...record in pattern mode...and yet if not careful becomes a 3 bar pattern..
I can adjust afterwards..but this is a pain......is it something to do with latest update?
Am I doing something wrong?
2 bars means 2 bars surely?!
Lasso removes from song yes...but doesn’t delete patterns from pattern list surely...?
I could well be wrong, but I suspect this is a question about how BM3 should handle notes that sustain past the end of the loop marker.
The alternative would be that BM3 has to abruptly terminate notes that go beyond the right marker. But perhaps that might be preferable to most?
As a (potential) workaround, have you tried defining the pattern length before you start recording (as opposed to letting BM3 determine pattern length automatically based on positioning the loop markers?
Yes...have defined pattern length before...I don’t know another app where this happens...weird
Loop markers on
With loop icon off seem to be able to record in pattern mode to set length of pattern .....just tested it....am I being dumb?
@IOSSOS your still in song mode. You have to tap on the actual pattern where you set your bar length or press “create pattern” Then allshould be ok. After that you can then tap “play song” when you are ready to drag your patterns into the timeline to create an arrangement
Yes thanks..did that...maybe screenshot not the correct one intended....
However...BM3 does not work as well in a loop mode as in CB2 for example...
If you set a loop..how can it possibly record outside......er...quantisation issues?...baffled....
@IOSSOS yeah that’s strange. It works fine here using the same method.
