  • Sounds good, Leo. Thanks!

  • Sounding great, yes please provide us with a tutorial

  • nice track. which elements used the euclidean sequencer? Just drums?

A Drambo noob question for @SoundForMore / @supadom/@anyone. running supadom’s patchstorage Euclidean patch inside AUM, got audio, lovely, added a MIDI out module to the end of the patch, expected to see midi coming out so I could record the patterns in Atom. Nothing is coming out. How do I hook up your patch to get midi out?

I don’t have that patch, but if it’s using CV, adding a ‘note gen’ module (in the midi section) before the midi out module might do the trick.

If it’s just midi, the midi out module by default displays “- -“ also. That must be tapped to select a destination (channel 1-16).

  • Nope, still not happening. I’m sure that this is operator error, but nothing I do with Note Generator and/or Midi Out and/or clicking on the various connections between these two modules and the master outputs seem to do anything. Anyone able to explain what I need to check to get this to work? I did what the context menu said hooking the Note generator to the midi module and, er... nothing. I’ll post a vid.

Yeah, that’d be great. Might be able to diagnose something with a screenshot or video.

@Svetlovska Okay, so that's an instrument rack. It's only got 1 output, which in this case is used for audio. The note gen requires 3 inputs to produce midi. This euclidian sequencer project unfortunately can't be used for midi. If that rack was converted into a midi rack it would be possible to use the way you are desiring. The other solution would be to copy all contents of the rack (long press first module and 'select all, cut'. Then it could be pasted to a new track, and you could grab the gates, pitch, and velocity CVs necessary for the midi note gen (I know that's some masterclass stuff).
Maybe @supadom could convert it for you? If not, I could take a look at it after lunch.

I made this patch recently using three Euclidean sequencers. You could have a play while waiting for the tutorial ;)

@aleyas : thanks for checking this out, and explaining the problem. I never would have worked that out. As I said: noob here! If you could see your way to making a midi version, I’d be very grateful! @supadom : yes, yours is the patch I am trying to midi :) I have left a comment on your patchstorage download page requesting the same thing - the addition of a midi out as part of the project. Aleyas has explained why that might not be so straightforward, but you obviously know your way around Drambo, so, you know - nothing ventured nothing gained :)!

Haha @Svetlovska @aleyas seems like the tagging hasn’t worked and I wasn’t aware of the conversation! Just came back from the school run so I can finally reply.

I guess another way of doing it might be to split the three sequencers onto three different Drambo tracks and put the controls all on one track? This is a relatively simple patch (I can’t do complex) so might need help from heavyweights like @rs2000 to crack it ;)

    Is that what you want?
I've just added a MIDI out after the transposer in each layer (they'll be merged into one MIDI stream):

This is a midi-fied version of the project. I’ve removed the fm operators as they won’t sound in the midi rack. Some functions such as the XY slider aren’t operational, cause this is for external sequencing only. The XY pad can be configured to output CC, I can do that for you @Svetlovska if you wish.

The 3 sequencers output on 3 different channels. So you can point this project at 1 instrument in omni, or 3 separate instruments. Let me know how it works for you. (Channels are from 1-3)

  • Cheers guys @rs2000 @aleyas Very elegant solutions.

I was in the world of dual ssd upgrade on a mini mac I’m selling, needed to concentrate (not easy!). ;)

@aleyas @supadom @rs2000 : thanks all for your interest and solutions:) Yes, please @aleyas , I’d like the xy pad outputting cc option if at all possible, I’ll try this one, and I’d be interested to try @rs2000 ’s version too. I’ll report back on results. Thanks again, everyone. Gotta love this forum. :)

Update: @aleyas - quick proof of concept vid. Ignore the (ahem) ‘music’, just showing it works exactly as I hoped. Thank you!
