Virsyn Addictive Pro AU extension Problem

I'm having a really wacky problem with Addictive Pro within AUM. It is really difficult and cumbersome to try to explain it verbally, so I made a video illustrating the problem and posted it on my web site; link is below.

Basically, one instance of Addictive Pro in AUM is out of tune by about 3/4 tone. If I add one or more instances of Addictive Pro, the problem goes away. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm on an iPad Air 3, iOS 13.7. The problem does not occur on an Air 1 or Air 2.

I don't know if anyone from Virsyn Support sees these posts, but if so I hope you can help me out with this. I would have posted on Virsyn's support page, but no way to leave a video there, and no way to leave questions about iOS apps.
Thanks for any assistance.

  • Classic case of sample-rate mismatch, most likely the Air 3 is locked to 48k while Air 1 & 2 use 44.1k.

Right, that's what I've been told. And there was an update from VirSyn at least a year ago that fixed the problem in the stand-alone app, but this still happens in the AU extension. AND it goes back in tune when I add a 2nd instance...

Could be an iOS issues as well?

I'm always on latest release version (iPadOS14.4.1, iPad Air 2) and I'm kinda happy that I've not rushed to getting a new iPad.
I would go bonkers with all the sample-rate related issues...

Do you have any external audio interface to try with?

  • Do you have any external audio interface to try with?

No, I don't use one, and probably won't; I'm trying to keep it simple and inexpensive... I'm mainly a guitarist, and more of a synthesizer hobbyist. The solution in the video works, and if the worst thing I have to do is load more than one Addictive Pro, I'm fine with that; once the second one is in there, the tuning is just fine. But it would be nice to get this fixed...

That, I don't know. My Air 2 was on iOS 12 when I had it, so no way to tell if this is an iOS 13 problem... I've also heard of some wacky thing that goes on with the sample rate when you plug something into the headphone jack, but not at all sure what that's about...

    Yepp!

Do you have any plans to update to latest iPadOS version?
(There's been some AUv3 related fixes even though to everything is fully fixed yet).

iPadOS14.5 should drop before end of March...

I've really been resisting it... I have some possibly weird ideas about OS updates. It always happens in the Mac & Windows worlds that you'd get a really hot, fast computer, and then, next thing you know, there are updates for all the programs and the OS, that add more stuff and put more load on your computer, so then you need a better, faster computer, and then you have more updates... it just never ends... The Air 3 cost a lot of $$$, for me anyway, and I'm sort of heading for it to be my last iPad. Also, every time I'd read about all the "cool new stuff" in 14, I'd always be thinking, "well, I don't know what I'd do with that"... On the other hand, I check on the Facebook iOS AU group once in awhile, like "how are you getting along with 14?", and it seems like it has stabilized pretty well. So maybe...
