forget it...needs iOS support
Always wanted one of these but never had the spare cash for one as bit expensive and always found something I needed more to buy
They look lovely and I'm amazed there aren't more alternatives at cheaper prices. Was actually talking about these few weeks back and someone who makes diy controllers said he had made something similar.
When looking before closest I could find was an audient audio interface that had a nob that seemed to do something similar.
What a cool idea to combine the knob with eye tracking. Would love to have that on the iPad.
Actually I disagree. I’ve read the manual of nOb
That means it acts like a mouse that does click and drag at once. So, I think it should work on the iPad the same way as on the desktop. You can tap on a control and then turn the knob. I guess also the drag modes should work as you can adjust the mouse acceleration in iPadOS.
What you can not do for sure of course is using the assignment center software. So no keyboard shortcus, etc.
Really interesting. I would actually like to try it. Pity that it’s not Bluetooth.
ohh..no kidding..wow..I thought this hardware is tied with the software!! well..i look fwd to try it out

@Sergiu please report here if it really does work.
@muzka could you point me to the DIY topic thread, please?
This knob idea caught me... The longer I think about it, the more I want one. Probably this is the best thing to control software. I tried to use my hardware controller with a number of knobs and buttons. Quickly I wanted more knobs. But if you have many many knobs then you quickly get lost what is the meaning of all the knobs. Moreover always MIDI learn sessions...
The nOb is a great combination of touch and a knob. No MIDI learn. I think it will be great.
@krassmann It works! I connected it through Kingston Nucleum / iPad pro
You just cannot have the extra settings available on desktop/laptop ( Nac software ). Amazing piece of gear! Runs really smooth and precise on the iPad! I will use it anyways with ableton.
Wasn't on here, was on Facebook a while back so don't have a link, sorry dude. If memory serves me right I think it was on a sonic academy post. Guy makes his own diy controllers said something about writing code so that when you move the mouse over a parameter and touch the touch sensitive nob it works like a mouse click then you can adjust the setting and when you let go its the same as releasing the mouse click. Said if you can build a simple midi controller it's just some extra coding but I'm lost in the area of diy
Thank you @muzka. NP, I also know some DIY guys, I can ask them.
I searched for some alternatives and I found the discontinued Griffin PowerMate. I searched on eBay classifieds and someone just round the corner sold it for 10 bucks. So bought it but the iPad does not recognize it as a mouse. It does work on my MacBook. What a pity. The knob looks nice and turning synth knobs on my MacBook also works nice. 😥 No luck.
Interesting ...nob has also cool behaviors ( if I can call it like that) where the position of the knob/fader in your plugin will remember the last position , or not jump to the value ...plus other cool settings ( setup configurations/presets for it) and it runs so smooth ...very precise indeed. What I realized on the iPad...it needs sensitivity/speed to be adjusted....it is a bit too slow for me , while you operate it .if they will port Nac to iOS , that would be amazing ( but not sure if ever)
Btw...since I never used a mouse with my iPad, I did not do any settings ( accessibility /general) on the iPad . Is there any extra settings I should check?
I also know only these settings under accessiibilty -> touch -> devices
This could be great for the Vision Pro in combination with the eye tracking and focus of elements, or if those features somehow trickle down to the iPad.
Is the Nobcontrol still unusable on the iPad or are there new settings for external mice that weren't there in 2021?
I did not hook it up on ipad in a long time...its still amazing for desktop
