Slate and Ash Cycles
Wondered is anyone was aware of anything that approached the desktop application from Slate and Ash called Cycles? It’s a granular loop effect and so far I’ve been unable to find anything coming close to the complexity and flexibility of this app on iOS.
I know of Looperator by Sugar Bytes, but if you check out the capabilities of this in the video below, you’ll see what Cycles is capable off.
Maybe some developer reading this, could look into an iOS equivalent?

I would love to see something similar to this on iOS!
Has anyone been messing with this? It’s on sale but still not cheap but looks the dogs - any interesting alternatives? Desktop or iPad, but feels like most other things have a subset of the features of this…
I’ve had cycles for a couple of years and I absolutely love it. I love Choreographs too. Really great sounds, and limitless ways to mess with modulation….The latest ones Spectres is not to my taste…wish they offered demos because I wouldn’t have purchased it if I had access to a demo. Anyway,I highly recommend Cycles,….but that’s just my opinion, my taste. Yesterday I bought Bleass Dragonfly which some people think is amazing and I think it’s the dullest, most uninspiring app I’ve ever bought….
Yeah a demo would be great, I could tell then whether or not my attempts to do similar stuff with CV sequencer modules and flexi samplers in dRambo get me close enough not to spend the big bucks😅
Wow what a cool plugin (Cycles). A bit pricey but if I could afford it I would have gone for it.
I've been playing a lot with Borderlands lately and it's also amazing but very different from this.
You can do this exact thing in 4pockets Wavecloud by setting up multiple Waveglide points.
The bonus of Wavecloud is you'd have WAY more control over how things loop. The drawback would be it would take longer to set up intially.
My suggestion would be to learn WaveCloud and set up a preset with waveglide points that loop nicely, and then swap out the sample and tweak the loop points as you like. You should be able to keep the relative simplicity of setting up a Cycles-like sound, yet also have the benefit of so many more granular possibilities.
I love everything slate and ash. I’ve used SynthJacker to bring some of their instruments into the iPad. One nice thing about Spectres, is that they provide the .wav files that you can just bring I and drop into a sampler. Big fan of all the esoteric articulations.
That is an interesting option, I do like that app’s way of handling granular…
I’ve built a nice setup in dRambo that runs off CV sequencers to slice and pitch/randomise samples as well so I’ll share that when it’s a bit more presentable, might stave off the gas long enough for the sale to end, which when that price doubles will definitely end my interest 😅
Though if I win the pitch I’m on this week, it might well be the just reward for work well done 😅😀
What about this app cannot be already found on ios? For this money you could buy all of the granular app on ios, and probably have even more capability.
That’s kinda what I’m asking really 👍
