Finally gave up on ios, still cracking/popping/lagging 3rd gen ipad pro
So, I got the 3rd gen ipad pro the day it came out. Has more than enough power to record a couple tracks through usb interface right? Nope... I have tried everything for over 2 years, it just falls short every time, there is always a problem, but its become even worse. I cant record ONE SINGLE hardware synth into cubasis, aum, etc without crackling and popping, 2% cpu usage. Thats only the "main" problem. It just isn't quite the machine I expected it to be. By the way, absolutely NO issue recording into ableton on a pc, no issue w anything there. So, sold the ipad, got a Dell XPS 13, my life is better.
So, is this a common thing? Or only w the 3rd gen pro? I still LOVE a lot of these apps, and this community, still have iphone 12 for random midi tools/controllers. Kind of just disappointed. If it werent for these issues, the ipad was super awesome, so many good tools, but its just not usable in real life....

Sorry for your issues. I have the same iPad. Never have had those problems.
Air2 can do a lot more than just recording . Sounds more like a usb interface problem (malfunctioning or sample rate / buffer conflict vs software )
I have the same iPad as you s since it’s came out as well...it does crackle and pop but only if I load a bunch of auv3s..recording tho no problem at all
Hmm. Gain staging, in/out levels, impedances? I think here was the problem.
@DEADCIRCUITGOD, obvious, but latency in audio settings? Also, many believe changing your name will bring a turn of fortune. Sounds appropriate in your case. 😉
Sounds like an issue with your audio interface. What interface are you using?
So much yes.
Same iPad same problems. Tried everything I’ve read here on the forums and gave up a while back. The top of my regretted purchases list.
