How to add my PC to IPAD setup.
Looking for some help please...
I didn't expect this to be so difficult and maybe it isn't. The primary goal is to use soft synths on the PC that can be recorded/played back via MIDI (like an external sound module). I accept that the audio will have to go over analog to the audio interface. But how do I get MIDI to and from the PC to the Keyboard controller and IPAD? Is this just a matter of adding another audio/midi interface to the PC? If so how would I connect the PC audio/MIDI interface to the USB hub (for MIDI)?
Thx

Will this work? Then I could run the audio out the Main in to the IPAD audio interface. Hundred bucks for the Presonus isn't to bad. I just don't have any experience with those cable conversions. I assume they work.
Maybe overkill for your needs, but there is the iConnectivity iConfig 4+ which lets two computers/iOS-devices send audio to each other without (much) latency. It's discontinued but works well. Only 4 analog inputs.
Unfortunately, it IS difficult with a PC.
If you can get ahold of an iConnectivity Audio 4+ that's the ultimate solution. They're no longer manufactured, but totally worth trying to find.
The Presonus interface plus DIN-USB adapter is a good solution, but you'll still need to get the audio to the PC, so an audio interface will be needed there. If you could get two of those interfaces then you'd only need standard midi din cables between the two boxes. Any interfaces with audio out/in and midi in/out through DIN should work.
BTW, I have that same DigitalLife MIDI adapter and it works great.
Completely agree, you should either go the iconnectivity route, or try the studiomux one, and control everything from your pc.
A bit afraid with iconnectivity, as we don't know how long it will still work with future iOS updates... For instance I can access via the iconfig app my ICA4+ but it doesn't work with the iCM4+.

So far I can't recommend this route. Lotta troubles with the beta here. I know that's to be expected with beta test software, but it's still kinda rough for someone just trying to get hooked up.
I have the non beta and it works fine as always did for me (iOS 13)
I agree it's not for beginners ,but not that hard...
I've always had OK luck with the non beta, iOS (13 and below), and Windows 7. But boy have I read a lot about people having issues with it. I expect the new version beta will improve (provided people like me that hit issues take the trouble to report them).
