What’s the best vocoder on iOS?

Hi guys. What vocoders are you using?
Which vocoder has most features?

Comments

  • Der Voco used it live on stage, no complaints.

  • Best answer. Thanks 💪🏾

    Thanks for the link 💪🏾

  • I recently blended Beepstreet DerVoco and Humbletune vBot on same vocal to good effect. Both area also solid vocoders in their own right and both AUv3

NuRackFX has a vocoder component, too (I mean what doesn't it have) which is simple and sounds decent. For features, try Voice Synth and let yourself get lost in a whole world that opens up. :)

    This

  • MatrixVocoder if you want to go all out.

  • Personal fav is VoxSyn Pro

Bumping this thread, now that Virsyn has several vocoders on sale. But, also I’m interested in knowing how to set up NuRack to work as a vocoder as @ervin mentions. What sort of input chain do I need to set up in eg. AUM? I need a vocal input and then some sort of modulator(?), like a synth or something? I’m quite a novice when it comes to the world of vocoders, but I love the sound :)

Also, if anyone has any of Virsyn’s vocoders (iVoxel, Voxsyn Pro, Matrix Vocoder) can you chip in with your experiences using them? What do they do and how are they different and which do you prefer?

  • I settled on DerVoco, does what I wanted reliably, sounds good.

    Cheers!

  • I still get my best results with Voice Synth.

Great, thanks @ervin and everybody else. I’m thinking about Erik Sight’s VoxBot too, it sounds great in @jakoB_haQ thorough run-through of the vocoders on IOS.

  • Synthmaster One has a vocoder that can be used in the FX slot of a vocal track. It’s actually pretty powerful, @thesoundtestroom did a really good video on it a while back
It can also be combined with other SMO FX which is rather handy.

The problem is there is inexplicably no preset for the vocoder.

You have to start with an empty patch (new preset) and build it out from there, then save what you’ve made and reuse in the future.

It’s all in the video, not terribly difficult.

  • Has anyone tried GospelMusicians' TalkBox in iFX yet?

I wonder if someone could advise on an GB/IOS compatible app that I could use to basically get close to the effect that Trevor Horn used in the Buggles - kind of a slight distorted radio sounding vocal - "Elstree or Video killed the radio star".

Not overly confident on my vocals skills but that's where I want to take my music next - but will start off with a bit of "disguising"

Do I need a vocoder app or is it some mix of effects that I could use ?

    thanks

It's mostly EQ and a bit of distortion.

  • BTW, 2 years ago I made an analog vocoder emulation using Drambo:
    https://patchstorage.com/analog-vocoder-aufx/

Its pitches can be played using a MIDI keyboard too.
