Is there an app to extract audio from video?
Not sure if that would even be legal but would certainly make learning a song easier.

I messaged you about it.

I use this shortcut all the time. Works great!!!
I've been using Koala to import audio from screen captures but I suspect it works with a lot of video formats. It's a good toolbar editing, stretching, chopping and mangling. Then you can save the whole file or edited sample to wav files. Auto-chopping and stretching requires an IAP purchase.
Looks good but I can't enable the setting required to install it.
You need to run a shortcut on iOS before you can download it.
Note: If you don’t see the Allow Untrusted Shortcuts setting, run a shortcut and then go back to Settings.
Here you go, suggested by @hennythabizness:

I did that. Ran a shortcut, no change.
You could try this
Export Audio

This one is free and works fine for me

AudioStretch
Documents by Readdle is a general purpose file app that’s free and well worth having and amongst its features it can also extract audio from videos.

I believe that if you have the video file available and it is supported, you can open it in iMovie and detach the audio and then export it. As noted, there are plenty of apps that can do it as well.
The easiest way must be one of several free online services out there…
Nice and simple. It's a good one, thanks.
Good suggestion, not sure if it converts yet but good for practice, working stuff out.
That's right. A bit of farting around though.
I don't know why but I don't think I'll ever be comfortable using an online service like that. Same with online mastering services etc.
No compatibility for standard iPads unfortunately.
You can use the Apple Shortcuts app and search for the "encode media" action, it has an audio only feature which basically works like audio extraction.
Best combine it putting a "select file" or "Photos" action before it, it's possible to grab the latest screen recording this way.
