daw iphone
so....since bm3 is not an option on my iphone, is there an effective app in a daw type. or is nano studio my only option. I used it years ago buy back then you were forced to use their instruments, but i want more flexability. me is an all in one solution or kind of ya know? Ido know that i need audioshare and loopy.lany other apps that are a must for an iphone users? back to the other topic say i want to record with say animoog what then? the of course spending big bucks for aria just seems a waste because it can be quite costly...so with that said if you were me...and you were say building a little studio on your iphone what would be your must have apps?

I hear you, BM3 for Iphone would be my go to DAW for Iphone. maybe someday.
Nano studio is great, the synths and drum instruments are really nice. However there is no audio recording which is a bummer. but you may be able to use an AU sampler inside nanostudio to get the audio in there a little.
there is Cubase, but I have not had very good luck with the iphone version. When using bluetooth headphones the audio quality is garbage, off and on. I think they are still working on some bugs.
Aum is another app you need to get. it’s similar to a DAW but not quite there yet.
this will let you link any of your ios instruments and effects and mix them together and record them. I use it every time i open my phone.
Untill BM3 comes to iphone ( you should message that dev and remind him) that’s kind of where things are at. so so close to full DAW
I suggest giving Zenbeats a try. I find it works great on a phone. It's especially nice that it's got a clip launcher as well as a timeline, much like Ableton Live.
It's free to try out, though missing some of the features. It should give you enough to have an idea whether or not it's workable though.
BM2 if you don’t care about AUv3. Cubasis 3 otherwise.
Audiobus to GarageBand or Cubasis? Or capture into AudioShare and export to whichever app you decide to use.
BM2 is still pretty nice on iPhone last I played with it.
FLSM for a full DAW with audio tracks, FX sends, analyzer, tuner, auto-pitch, Files app integration, stem export, sample edition, timestretch for audio and midi, intuitive automation of all parameters, drum sampler, keys sampler etc etc. most frequent updates of any of the iPhone DAWs etc
Again if you dont care about AUv3, but love sound design and modern elegant GUI that doesn’t feel like building a ship in a bottle. (Has IAA for Animoog).
You can record Animoog in Nanostudio 2 using Audiobus. Then you do have to use Slate or Obsidian and then no time stretching or pitch shifting.
For the iPhone, this would mean we can't include Beatmaker 3 and Auria. In that case,
Cubasis, Zenbeats and Garageband are the most complete DAWs on iOS that I've tested. My favorite is Garageband but that's another conversation.
(I'd probably stop reading at this point, but if you're looking for app combinations, continue on)
There are others full DAWs like Audio Evolution Mobile Studio, n-track, Multitrack DAW which I haven't tested.
Second most complete would be Nanostudio 2, Gadget 2, Koala Sampler, FL Studio Mobile, Caustic. They work, although they have a small limitation with workarounds.
Nanostudio 2 - No audio tracks, but you can use Slate to import audio tracks into a drum rack.
Gadget 2 - Does not support AUv3 or have a regular grid, but you can import audio into it.
FL Studio Mobile - Does not support AUv3 but you can import audio into it.
Koala Sampler - Does not support AUv3 or have a regular MIDI grid but is amazing at working with samples similar to Beatmaker 3.
Caustic - Legacy app, does not support AUv3, does not have a regular grid.
Drambo and AUM are modular DAWs where you can make what you want. It does require you to understand how they send information (INPUT -> EFFECT -> OUTPUT)
Don't forget Audio Evolution Mobile. It's an excellent universal DAW app.
Garageband...u can’t go wrong.
KORG GADGET also works on the phone but Garageband is a better choice for just starting out.
Another vote for Audio Evolution Mobile - I don't have it on iOS but I heard its solid (and love it on Android)
BM2 is great if you don't mind going old school. Garageband is solid too (only con I can stat is if you ever want to send stems from it to other apps in the future)
Decided to revive this one just to post what i'm playing with right now
Beatmaker 1
