I don’t understand why Toontrack (ez drummer dev) as not ported it iOS. They could sell tons of IAP which is exactly what their business model is all about.
If 4Pockets could add to DigiStix a browser to audition midi beats that could be dragged on a time line.
Is 4pockets on this forum?
DrumJam, Soft drummer, Jazz drummer, Future drummer and Slammer. For DrumJam and Softdrummer i made a bluetooth midi controller using my android phone including volume, pan, mute, solo and changing presets/banks. This way i can stay inside cubasis and dont need to switch apps. Super fun.
The other dev who I would have thought had a vested interest in this is Steinberg! Groove Agent anybody?
@BillS You may want to have a look at this video. ( Video made few years ago with the first version of DPPlayer. )
Nowadays, the Auv3 Player ( much refined ) automatically import the songs, that are updated in the presets. No need to import anything. Just choose the song in the preset list and play. Notice the multi outs too.
Some users have indeed compared DrumPerfect Pro to EZ drummer. They may somewhat be comparable, however DPP allows you to not only use your own samples and midi files, but offer much more flexibility in editing your tracks and kits.
Additionally 16 packs with unique kits and tons of patterns, covering most drumming genres are offered for download in its store.
That's why I use it extensively to build my drum tracks, and couldn't find better for its versatility.
@Gilbert thanks for sharing the video. However, making a drum track somewhere else, and then importing into my DAW makes no sense to me. Perhaps I’m missing something. When I am creating a new song, I want to be able to try out different grooves, change grooves, cut, copy, chop, add and take away individual beats all within Cubasis.
Hey man. Just wanted to ask a question. Do you have any experience with this. If I start a beat in Logic drummer. Then bounce that down to midi. Can I then get that midi to work in BM3 or other apps ?
Just would like the option to mix in some of my sounds on the iPad . I like the flexibility on Drummer but would like to add some iPad juice to the beats.
Thanks man.
I’m sure you can if you export it as a midi file. You can convert the logic drummer regions to midi regions, so I don’t see why that wouldn’t work.
I did not produce any rock drums so far in iOS but i am trying this:
Cubasis as a decent midi browser to browse the Allan Morgan signature drum midi loops
Plus I downloaded some free loops https://groovemonkee.com/products/drum-freebie-pak-gm
Those midi trigger Beathawk Accoustic drum
Buying some of those midi drum loop may seal the deal.

The problem I have with Cubasis’ midi browser is that, with the exception of the drum loops that ship with Cubasis itself, you cannot autoplay (i.e. preview) midi in the browser, you have to actually drag it into the project to hear it. This makes buying external midi loops pointless in my view. I raised this on the Cubasis forum a year ago, but to my knowledge, it’s still the case.
You are right I missed that important details.
I still think 4pockets would be the best bet to built a midi browser in DigiStix or a new app. Anybody know how to reach him?
If you web search for 4PocketsAudio you can find his social media along with some email addresses that may or may not work. (The 4Pockets.com website is still in maintenance mode). Facebook or YouTube is preferred according to this thread from a few years ago - https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/35075/contacting-4pockets
Yes I saw their site in maintenance and a weird link to a kal-group.
I don’t have a Facebook or YouTube account. 😱😱
@ecou There is an email address in the last post of the thread I linked - [email protected]
Thank you
