drambo track: euclidean mysteries

Finally getting around to enjoying the Euclidean devices in drambo. So much fun:

Nice. This were my 12 track attempt of samples. I will get better as its my first time sampling but say this must be what an octatrack is like? Sample manipulation that is and im manipulating samples so it creates 3 tracks from the original. In fact the 2nd and 3rd is better than the original. So ideal if you arnt needing precision. Theres no patterns on sequencer either or patterns. Just the euclidean motion and this is also without effects controller. An effects controller should be good. The way the tracks sound different is being able to pitch every sample and then obviously re-working the timings of euclideans live. If you put effort in for samples. Then 12 tracks isnt that overkill ( soundwise ) I will add more from synths though ( euclidean ) and obviously normal.

Tbh. Tracks are a bit whack but the level of control. I simply turn off everthing. Then have a new track when I turn everything back up from the same samples.

  • Hey, that Tape Pro app looks interesting. I bought this one the other day:

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/re-1-tape-machine/id1407764053

Anything similar to that? Maybe Gauss might compare to either one?

It's not too difficult to build any of these inside a Drambo FX rack... just in case...

But of course. But i already had this one to use so i gave it a warbly whirl 🤪

Are there any examples on patch storage?

I don't remember any and instead of trying to saturate exactly like tape I personally prefer to saturate in a way that sounds good with the audio material I'm using. But I can list a few modules to get you started:

    • Saturation incl. "Drive" and "Asymmetry": Graphic Shaper
    • Saturation with hysteresis: 2 Graphic Shapers and an X-Fader controlled by an envelope follower
    • Frequency response: LPF, HPF, Peaking EQ
    • Tape wear: LPF with cutoff controlled by a rather fast LFO with "S&H ramp"
    • Wow & flutter: A stereo delay with delay time modulated by another (slower) S&H ramp LFO to modulate pitch slightly
    • Noise: Ideally record from real tape and loop in Flexi
    • Dolby NR artifacts: Compression using the compressor, cheap expansion using the noise gate and the graphic shaper plus modulated low pass filter
  • @rs2000 love it. Thanks for the details👊🏼™️

  • You're very welcome @echoopera.

  • @echoopera

    Nice track.
    Very chilled.
I’ve only just started delving into the Euclidean Sequencer.
Something different especially after the Tesseract synth explorations.

    Thanks for the share.

    @rs2000

I’m going to have fun with those suggestions.
“2 Graphic Shapers and an X-Fader controlled by an envelope filter” definitely caught my eye.

  • @Gravitas @Intrepolicious @senhorlampada Many thanks! Glad you all liked it.

Here's another track using the Euclidean generators even more. I add a Random Rack to it as well to add variety to the notes:

  • You have the midas touch, mate. Everything turns to gold... So awesome

Many thanks...just doing my part to listen to what Drambo is giving me...thanks for giving it a viewing and listen.

  • Here’s a little walk thru on what I’m doing. You can also grab the project file in the YouTube description:

  • Cool Echo. Needed generative synths midi. Used colider to Euclidean but this seems to be more controlled. Think you have to adjust pitch in collider to filter high notes.
