ID 700 Buchla synth in action: The Dark Processional (warning: ambient muck ahead)
4 instances of slightly tweaked presets, Drum Computer on death knell drum duties, the usual shed load of reverbs, and... yeah. I like it! Gonna be digging into this for a while yet, I think
As ever, interested to hear what people think.

VERY NICE! Out of interest what is triggering? Also stick it into Beatcutter! ;-). Really enjoyed that!
it's really dark![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
@NimboStratus : hey, thanks for the listen.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Yes, I’m still looking sideways at BeatCutter. I like what it can do, but I’m not sure if I want to put the work in to understand it yet. Might wait a while. But you’re right. This could be good in that.
I based the track off an initial Riffer loop constrained to my usual fave settings, tweaked them a bit more, then threw in Cality, Aphelian, and MIDIgates to thin and vary the event stream across the four instances, MIDILFOs to do real-time slow evolution of the envelopes, and - yeah. A shake and bake colony of craziness.
(just me fantasising the space marines slowly making their way through the wreck of Hadley’s Hope, while this plays low in the mix, and Ripley gears up for the fight to come...)
Rather lovely 😊
@MAtrixplan : thank you, I will take that as a compliment
I was a bit worried my last couple of tracks sounded a bit too perky. You can’t do cheeky chappie Dark Ambient ![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
@Krupa : thank you!![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Heard, enjoyed and tweeted! Great atmosphere in this one and kept my attention solidly throughout. I like short form experimental pieces!
@Gavinski : thank you! I’m quite partial to them meself
Although of course it is just, oh, what was the phrase now? Oh yes: ‘ambient muck.’ ![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Dark muck at that 👻
😂😂😂
Nicely Bladerunnerish.
Wow, this sounds awesome.
@NeuM , @FloRi89 : thanks both for the kind words and the listens. Yes, I definitely get ‘dark dystopian future hellscape’ vibes from a lot of the presets. But maybe that’s just me. I could probably get that from a ringtone![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Very nice and yes, I can see well this app playing together with BeatCutter...
Great!
@cuscolima @espiegel123 : thanks both for the listens!![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Because I’m a masochist, I worked out recently the odds of me ‘breaking through’, set against an achievable yardstick: Beyoncé, obviously.
Her most popular track on Spotify, ‘Crazy in Love’ has to date had 574,354,023 streams.
Meanwhile, Allseits, one of the very biggest fish in the very small pond of Dark Ambient that I presume to swim in, have racked up 471,254 streams of their most popular track The Moment Before You Fall Asleep.
I’m not even on Spotify. (Which, admittedly, could be a drawback in The Plan.)
But if I add up all streams of all 31 tracks of mine on SoundCloud, created over the last two and half years, in total, it comes to, wait for it...
7,754.
For all 31.
Over 30 odd months.
Now, on the one hand, I’m actually surprised (and eternally grateful) it’s even that many. On the other hand, this:
“ Spotify does not disclose how much it pays artists per stream, but analysts have calculated it at about $0.00318, meaning that a rights holder would receive $3.18 (£2.74) per 1,000 streams”
I guess no Ferraris for me any time soon, then. Luckily, I am only in this Craft for Love
(see what I did there ? ; ) )
Or, to put it another way: I am very, very (very) grateful when someone takes the time to listen to my nonsense. Knowing someone heard it, and maybe even liked it a bit is the only external validation it’s ever going to get.
So: thank you all.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Cool stuff, I’m going to have a look at this synth right now.
@Intrepolicious : I think you’ll like it. It is very tweakable, despite the complexity.
@Svetlovska This could easily be the soundtrack for one of my dreams/nightmares.. a lovely dark journey.. 🙂 🙃 Fantastic!
@royor : thank you! Your dreams have soundtracks? Lucky you
Mine mostly have mumbling, and the odd sob... ![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Great track!![:smile: :smile:](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
@Pxlhg : thank you! I aim to please![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
