AudioBus and selecting presets/snapshots via MIDI?
Does anyone know if a user can select any Audiobus user created presets or snapshots via network MIDI? IE from another app on the same iPad?
Thanks

Yes, if you have the MIDI Learn IAP.
thanks, I think I do, I'll check it.....and if so how do you actually do it? I want to set the MSB/LSB/PC midi message in another app, so when it opens it sends this command to AudioBus which then changes to the required preset/snapshot.
Although I must admit I am not sure what MIDI l;earn has to do with this? I am NOT assigning any controller??
You are assigning a controller. It's just an app controller, not a hardware controller. MIDI Learn is just the name given to the midi control functionality and the IAP in Audiobus. And it is MIDI Learn in the sense that you need to teach Audiobus what midi to look for.
The manual describes it much better than I can: https://audiob.us/help/#midi-learn
Yeah I saw that earlier (it was the first place I looked) but it does not specify if it can do what I need...I can "step-through" presets but I do not want to do that...I want to specifically select them. The manual did not (at least that I could see) state this could be done.
Yes, you just need to tap the Folder (sessions) icon, then tap the preset you want, then send the MIDI to "Learn" it.
ahhh, ok so when that learn is active I just press the send (or Test button in the app unrealbook in this case) tab/button and AudioBus simply notes it was a msb string of data and not a physical controller....oh and via Network MIDI as well?
Just wrote it that way to make sure I have it correct in my mind...oh and it could be ANY message I choose, not just msb/lsb/pc?
Humm. I don't think Audiobus can listen to Network Session directly. Can Unrealbook send to a named midi port? Or does it publish it's own? What happens if you add "Virtual MIDI Bridge" in the MIDI input slot of Audiobus? Does Audiobus show up as a destination in Unrealbook? Or, if Unrealbook is running, does it show as an input selection in Audiobus?
If you have to use Network Session, then you might need something like MIDI Fire to act as an intermediary.
Oh, and I forgot to mention. Bank Select isn't supported, only Program Change. Which means you're limited to 128 PC messages. Notes and CC's are supported though.
No idea to any of that!
Ok I'll try elsewhere...sadly Camelot Pro is too flaky in this area of operations as it continually loses the network connection between it and Unrealbook everytime you turn off the iPad and re-start it on an other day. No good for live work!
I don't think I understand the need for Network Session in the first place, but since I have none of the apps you reference other than Audiobus, I'm not a good one to try to help.
