    Tried DrumPerfectPro?

I appreciate the work of the developer and like the idea behind it but I can‘t stand the GUI.
And it’s a whole different concept than Poise.

With electronic drum machines, drum synths or more or less simple one-shot samplers you're more than covered on iOS.

If you want to build a half-decent realistic acoustic drum kit iOS is still quite a bit of a desert imho.

    Agreed.

I love the concept behind these sampler apps.
    Do I need it?
I have various sampler libraries that include these kind of sounds.
I can build Drambo kits with them and add all the effects and stuff.
Would I rather pay 8€ to have a curated set of excellent sounds and have everything working smoothly out of the box?. Totally!. For that small price you save a ton of work and obtain a far superior result.

That said, I wish they’d release this multiple velocity very well laid out UI as an app where you could load your own samples. The only dedicated app that can do this in a similar fashion that I know of is DigiStix, great app but very intuitive UI.

Drambo as of today is complicated and time consuming to setup. Round robin, velocity layers, choke groups,..
You need velocity layers, round robin and choke groups at least. This rules out EGPulse and others.
Slammer has got a great UI, as much I respect 4Pockets, DigiStix doesn’t. A good UI is crucial, makes the experience enjoyable and speeds things up. Slammer gets it right.

Agreed, I care a hell of a lot about a nice UI, which is why I am gutted I forgot to even mention at all how great Slammer's UI is in my video lol. I guess at this point I have got so used to it from Klevgrand, but this is actually their best yet, I reckon, a joy to look at and use. It really makes a difference, I'd love to see 4Pockets up their UI game

4Pockets clearly has templates they reuse and are able to put together new apps much faster due to their library. Exciting UI is one thing, but if an app is difficult to use or has functions which are unclear, it won’t matter.

My gripe with DigiStix, but applies to 4Pockets apps in general, is not just about aesthetics. It’s hard and confusing to get to places. Pop up menu after pop up. Have you tried working with multi layer samples in DigiStix?. You can’t see what’s where. I don’t think it’s so much a problem of reusing a component library. Many devs do that, BLEASS apps for example are consistent accross. Same elements and positions, actually it’s positive to be consistent. The problem lies more in the user interaction and use than the design itself. It’s not enjoyable.

I have the uttermost respect for 4Pockets, they’re amazing. But they seem very opinionated about their interfaces, which is respectable, but I believe it’s hurting their sales. You’re on an iPad, not a 200$ Chinese tablet (all respect to those too), you’re supposed to appreciate design.

If we compared it to hardware, Slammer would have that nice polished, mate aluminum built, with nice rubber knobs. Vs all plastic and clicky.

    Agreed on all points here
