Need Opinions On Interfaces.
My I track solo, took a crap and I’ve been looking at replacements all day. I have an iPad Air 3. I’ve been looking at the motu m2, would it work for me? I plan on recording vocals into cubasis 3 but I’d like to be able to have audio in and possibly midi connections, Might want something with more inputs than the track solo I had. What is everyone else using?
You all have helped me in the past. Lol

If I had a choice, I'd get the scarlett 18i8 so I can do tons of routing and have multi inputs into my iPad to use it as a multiFX pedal.
New Motu or Presonus interfaces look good. Focusrite are reliable choice, if you need don't DC outputs which Motu and Presonus have.
I second the Scarlett 18i8 recommendation. Focusrite interfaces work well with an iPad.
This is what I use and it works brilliantly. Plug and play. But if you want to make the most of the features you need to get the focusrite control app.
I decided after testing a presonus, a motu, a komplete and an m-audio. for me, at the end nothing beat the combination of functionality and hugely convenient usability of the m-audio (air 192 6). even the fancy motu felt fiddly to operate when i used its dials after the comfortable size and placement of the m-audio controls. Also, low latency, 5-pin midi, all the other functions I need are there as well.
As always, Julian Krause has a good* review of it on YouTube (*meaning facts and smart talk, and no forced gesticulation or imbecile-looking cover shot
). He also does some comparative reviews of interfaces that might help you even more.
BTW, I'm using it with a mac and an ipad mini 5, also with an old hardware synth and for voice. No regrets.
Good luck with your choice! 🤞
Thank you for all the great opinions! Keep em coming haha
I have a Motu Ultralite Mk 3. Love the sound.
i can recomend motu- just perfect. also got very nice experience with u- phoria series from beh-ringer-super cheap for what she offers
