Cool. Congratulations!
I'm now off to weave some conspiracy theories as to why Lead did not get its full name in the tracklist and Gold was hidden behind the Latin... What is the artist trying to say? 🤔😎
Thanks, @ervin. Yes, I am a man of mystery!
Congrats on the album! @LinearLineman
First time hearing any of your work and I have to say I’m impressed and captivated by it. It’s 2:50 Am here now and my initial intention was to only check the first track. I’m on track 6 now and can’t bring myself to put the headphones away and return to sleep. Congratulations Michael!
Awesome. Congrats sir.
This is very conductive music and yet improvised music rarely has a conductor.
"All aboard". It's hard to resist.
This! I also made the mistake of then clicking over to his bandcamp page. 'round midnight. As you would. And found his jazz stuff there... you couldn't make this up. He even seems to anticipate it because one of his songs is called "Into the A. M.".
What can I say? Well played, sir.
Thanks, @Intrepolicious and @echoopera. Will release another tomorrow 😳😎🙏
@Hursoom and @Ervin... Wow, what great compliments! Thanks so much. I am being serious when I say your words and experiences hearten and inspire me to keep going. Very much appreciated.
Just to fill you in a bit. All my stuff is improvised. When recording I record three tracks... the full piano improvisation, a 2nd track of just the bass part of the improv and a 3rd track of just the treble part. I then do a bit of MIDI editing, if necessary, to clean up the improvisation.... usually the bass line and extra notes accidentally hit in a chord.
Often I add another track of a lead line and another for drums if used. I take those 3-5 tracks, duplicate them (often several times) and plug in all the appropriate instruments. Then it’s arrangement (playing up the strong parts and minimizing the weak ones), add FX and final mix.
It’s a bit of an illusion, serendipity, the magic of each app’s algorithmic choices and dumb luck. But that is how my workflow has evolved over three years of iOS (never tried desktop).
You might like to listen to the first part of the Periodic Table series... Elements, below. I can thank @McD for the fecund theme and his ongoing acerbic support. 😳😉😘
Thanks everyone!

WTF man u call that metal?? wheres the distorted guitars and double kick drums! just kidding actually I love the experimental approach you are taking. not scared to take chances with the music and thats awesome. gonna give this some more listens for sure
(but next time more distortion right?
)
Congrats on another collection of sonic adventures! A few of them I must have missed if you posted them here initially, so I’m going to do some catching up. Really pleased some of my presets have been useful to you in these musical excursions.
More than useful, Spider. Inspiring. Thanks for keeping up!
Nice stuff, honestly haven't listened to all tracks yet but, those I've heard are: good!![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Thank you for listening, @Pxlhg
Amazingly varied output @LinearLineman . Just listened to all tracks via decent speakers which I think makes a big difference. Nickel was my favourite, especially liked the organ work. Also Aurum which put me in mind of a Phil Collins track (which is meant as a compliment)
I’m really inspired by your stuff. Nice variations in timbre and you have a knack for keeping lots of voices from getting muddy. Because you’ve made it a playlist I was able to listen on my walks. Walking is really my best opportunity to listen to other’s music and really pay attention. When I’m home at the iPad, I mostly want to work on my own things. I’ve listened to Metals twice now; I don’t think that just one listen gives a fair impression of music. Some music has taken me many listenings before it dawns on me. I also think the themes, such as the elements or the planets, etc. is a good way to frame your ideas. I’m going to have to try that myself before you use up all of natural phenomena.
Thanks so much @GeoTony and @Stochastically. It means a lot to me that you each took the time to listen to the whole thing... even twice. I’m glad it holds up. And yeah, the themes help a lot in focusing on the output. I recommend it. All thanks to @McD, actually. He suggested it after I did the Planets.
