I don't need any apps. Have way more now that I'll ever really use.

Still...

I wanna buy a fresh, fun, sound app but I haven't really been keeping up on new releases lately.

Anything that's come out in the last couple of months or so... $10 or less... that's unconventional, experimental, fun?

Interconnectivity a must :)

I don’t see an ID700 in the AppStore but I’m in my car on iPhone at the moment. Guessing it’s only iPad? Will look up later when I get home via iPad

  • +1 on ID700. Synth app of the year so far, recreation of the Buchla 700 FM synthesizer:

    https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/id700/id1482698043

Not quite 10 bucks but BBB (bonkers beyond belief): BeatCutter by Igor Vasiliev. For this one you might not want to skip classes because there will be a test:

    https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/beatcutter/id1536114453

I actually won a code from @Gavinski (thanks!) and yes... Beatcutter is DEFINITELY my kind of app. Checks all the boxes and completely unique with a vast horizon of experimental possibilities. :)

    That looks great!!

Glad you're enjoying it Skip, me too, it's one of my apps of the year for sure despite initial misgivings.

  • Mynth is definitely fun and sounds great, I will finally do a vid on that when the parameters egt exposed, which will hopefully be very soon according to the dev.

ID700 for sure. Here are some things I don't like about it but it sounds amazing and is very innovative. Between that and BeatCutter you would be occupied with sound experiments for months to come.

  • IAP's for synthamster one and/or player. Are currently on sale and offer quite wide variety of sound scapes.

Thanks for the heads-up. Also I’m now kinda gasing for an app called Synth Hamster.

I like the title of this thread and your honest confession about your appoholism :) and the way you give a finger to it and go for another app :)

  • I too was just about to go searching the app store for Synth Hamster... excellent name for an app.

You are welcome. Don't you have a synth playing hamster as a companion for making music? If not than perhaps synthmaster would be a good substitute ;D

A synth playing hamster would stretch my wife’s patience beyond breaking point 😳

  • Klevgrand slammer is fun and sounds great. I wound up buying it on Mac because I got it for not much more than the iOS version, but I might still get it for iOS.

  • Holon.ist is a wee bit more and requires a fair amount of grey matter, but its potential is amazing. It uses sensors in either the ipad, iphone, Apple watch or sport sensors. It can pick up data from gravity, speed, the sun and moon, and even heat (given the right sensor). Movement to music, works great Mirack or midi.

  • @skiphunt you got Pure Acid already?
Or Koala Sampler (with the Samurai IAP)

  • The Strange Agency’s Granular Synth for iPhone.
Released with little or no fanfare.
    Free!

I've had this for over a year now... and you just now replied on YouTube to a question on YouTube that I asked about it over a year ago.

    Very strange

    Yes. Both.

Honestly... it's just idiotic that I'm even looking for yet another app. I really should just dive into the massive catalogue of apps that I already have.

It's just when something like BeatCutter comes out... that's just wildly strange, unique, idiosyncratic, and a blast to experiment with... it just relights the ol' app addiction flame.

Kinda like chasing the dragon I suppose. lol ;)

  • Give us a category - Maybe... Host, midi, audio, midi FX, Audio FX, Synth, Drum machine, Sampler, Midi Generation, etc...? Lol. Something to work with.

Weird. Not typical synthy, composition stuff. Unique, strange effects, experimental. Sound art, and not targeted for regular musician use.

  • Cool, that should help let’s have a think.

Touchscaper is cool touch screen instrument, it has some great sounds and midi out is awesome.

FX - i love GlitchCore and Replicant 2,

koala fx can be very experimental.

Theres the Hainbach apps, Sonic Lab, and others that seem awesome but with a bit of a learning curve

Apesoft apps like Sparkle - cross synthesis and others
    Soundscaper

    Drum wise
    Fractal Bits is really cool
    Skiiid is out there too

Those are just off the top... Most of these are geared towards music making though.

Soundbow is interesting. No connectivity but record your own sounds and then draw and move things to create music.

Nodebeat is nice by itself, but also with midi out...
    Same for Dot Melody

A few more last minute thoughts...

Ya see... that’s the problem. I already have ALL of those. lol 😆

I was really just asking about new stuff that might’ve come out in the last month or two, as I got a bit busy with other stuff and haven’t been keeping up.

I was watching out for Beatcutter for months but already got lucky and scored a code.

No worries though. Just checking if there’s something else recent that I might’ve missed.

  • I’ll second Klevgrand Slammer.
I layered it in AUM with a patch from AddStation that responds to the mod wheel with a cool wah/talk box like effect.
    Some cool sequencing possibilities.
    I think @Gavinski did a video.

Precisely. App name of the year, clearly.

  • @skiphunt you should try this one called audiobus I know u gonna like it B)
