Looking for hosts with sample rates less than 44.1kHz.

While working on LRC7 I discovered that there are some tracks in GarageBand that have a sample rate set to 22050 Hz. Well, I'd always assumed that every host was going to have a sample rate of a minimum 44.1kHz. That was clearly a mistake on my part and it means I have a bug in a couple of my AU's.

I'm working on fixing those bugs now, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other places that host AU's that have sample rates lower than 44.1kHz so I can make sure that my fixes work there too. (Mainly for testing purposes.)

Note: This is absolutely a bug on my part. Having a sample rate of less than 44.1kHz is a perfectly valid thing to do. It's done often in guitar pedals for example.

AudioShare has recording options as low as 8k.

Were those tracks in GB recorded directly in GB or imported?

  • Audio Evolution Mobile Studio has 32000Hz and 8000Hz sample rates.

Twisted Wave hosts plugins and has several sample rates below 44.1kHz.

The GB tracks are smart instruments and some sampler based stuff. All GB content.

Would most hosts bring the AudioShare files and convert them to the native sample rate of the project? Part of makes the GB situation interesting is that the project is in the native GB 44.1k and if you "merge" the tracks they convert to 44.1k.

Cool, thank you! I'll check these out.
