Manifold app for Octatrack. Any thoughts?
I finally took the plunge and ordered an Octatrack mk2 yesterday, and just noticed this controller app on the app store. Anyone have good experiences with it and do you know if it’s stable on iOS 14?

Great app. Marcus the developer is super responsive. Find him here: https://www.elektronauts.com/t/manifold-for-the-octatrack-ios-app/52874
(Old bread, but he’s all over that forumas he has analog rytm, digitone and model cycles apps as well)
FWIW I would say spend a good bit of time learning the OT before you bother with adding a controller app. There's a good bit there and sometimes the things you think you need in advance end up being part of the appeal of using the OT.
Plus it can be pretty complex to grasp, better to keep it simple in my experience.

slight offtopic, but just yestersay watched this supercool tutorial/showcase on how to use Octatrack as mixer/fx unit/looper. This thing is endless, lookig forward to add it to my digitakt/difitone setup

IMO it’s even harder to use than the Octatrack. I bought it, and never used it.
I would just use the OT until things start to click and you get the workflow. It’s such a wonderful and magical instrument to play. The only time I’d look up from the OT in your first couple months of learning it is to sequence great kit on the iPad over Midi. 👊🏼™️
I found this video series invaluable when i started out on the OT:

This was from a couple years ago. Now there’s a ton of great content on YouTube to learn from.
Congrats on getting this magical instrument.
Word of advice…if you get frustrated, this is good, because it is just weakness leaving your body as you transition to the Elektron way of working 🥰
Makes sense; no need to complicate the learning process.
I haven’t had much luck with hardware companion apps anyway, aside from Deepmind12’s - which is invaluable for preset management and building effects chains.
I love Thavius Beck’s tutorial series btw, one of the only video tutorials I’ve ever purchased. Very easy to follow.
thnx
Between that and Merlin’s guide, I should be better prepared when OT arrives
Good Luck and enjoy the process...the OT is a beautiful instrument.
Its a yes from me, really useful tool
It’s just a controller. There’s also a Midi designer template for Octatrack.
I wish there was something like Octa edit for iOS.

Just got the OT today .. Good lord this thing is sexy!
I haven’t spent a huge amount of time exploring the vast and intricate world of sampling ITB, as the prep work involved with that paradigm always seemed to kill my flow & inspiration. iPad apps like Samplr were far more immediate and inspiring to use, though they still left me longing for more.
Just the first hour with OT and it’s eureka ! All the immediacy and flow I get from programming a well designed synth, it does the same for sampling — with more than enough depth to satisfy my experimental nature.
absolutely love it ...and it’s not at all convoluted or hard to understand (though my time with MD UW probably knocked the learning curve down significantly ) ... It’s going to be endless fun feeding it w/ a wide variety of sources; It’s already got me planning to get into field recording
Wow, first I’ve heard of Octa Edit. Looks incredible from what I’ve seen on the official website. Definitely buying V2 when it comes out.
Exactly my experience with digitone and digitakt. Absolute bliss. I think Octateack purchase is inevitable. And Analog four. I'm lost 😂
