How to turn off automatic update in *testflight* app?

I strongly suspect that automatic updates in teatflight is one of the things contributing to my 'missing audio units' problem on iOS 14. Thing is, I can only see a way to turn this off per app, but can't see any global setting to turn auto update on or off for all Testflight apps. Anyone know how? Thnx

    Uninstall TestFlight? I'm pretty sure that when you re-install it'll pick up all your redemptions from your account since if I remember correctly it automatically picks up new ones on different devices.

  • Is auto-update a feature added in iOS 14? I’m on iOS 13.7 and see no related options. My TestFlight apps don’t auto-update.

    Tap on your user picture thing in the Apps column. You can shut it off for all new apps there.

  • Why do you suspect that it is related to TestFlight? I'm asking because I use TestFlight often and I've never seen the disappearing AU bug. I probably don't have as many apps in TestFlight as you do, but I sometimes have multiple updates from TestFlight a day. I also have the additional complicating factor that some of the apps I have in TestFlight I also have coming in from the App Store and Xcode at different times.

    Thank everybody. Because this problem seemed to worsen after I enabled auto update a few weeks ago. And I suspect that that may be what is happening when I get this problem mid aum session - test flight has downloaded something in the background. I probably have about 40 active test flights, yeah

    @espiegel123 may be - I got a notification of some kind asking if I wanted to turn this on, just now couldn't see how to turn it off. Can see how to do it for single apps but not globally, I'll try your tapping on user pic suggestion.

    Interesting. I have normal app store auto-updates turned off and I would never have had a TestFlight auto update during when I was actively using an AU. So, maybe there is something there.

    I think the way this works is that TestFlight prompts about allowing auto updates the first time you use it. After that, you can only change the setting for any new TestFlight apps. You have to manually change the setting for each app that you joined a beta test with before.

    I don't know why Apple have decided that my user photo should be used as a settings button. I've considered changing my image to a gear icon so that I know where to tap to get to settings in their apps.

  • FWIW, the teatflight app is right up there with the yodelling synth in the should-exist app category 👍

    I agree, horrible user design to make that head the settings menu.

    @ervin make that happen 😛

    Winning the lottery big time and then casually spending the rest of your life creating actual apps based on forum typos could be a very satisfying trolling exercise indeed. Or maybe not. 🤷
