Shards (weirdo buffer/looper/delay/mangler) Drambo/AUfx
Fun 3 channel multiple buffer/looper/mangler/delay weirdo fx thing been working on for couple weeks. Loosely based on pedals like Count To 5, Mood, Microcosm etc..
Also has different play modes (default, keys, keys+env)... & Switch vs Blend for the channels...
https://patchstorage.com/shards/
Full Instructions/better videos later today...Some parts of it are poss kinda confusing without 🤪
Main thing that’s not obvious is that for mode 3 (delay based looper), you need to pull the ‘mode 3 start/reset’ slider fully up to get the loop rolling. Slider fully down = off/reset, anywhere else = delay length (instead of loop). And press the ‘mode 3 Rec’ button to record in to that mode 3 loop.....
Better instructions/video to follow but here’s video from during testing that touches on a bunch of the functions 🗣🧠

Always happy to see child of the corn dog drambo content!
Kind words, thanks! 🙏
Here’s something quick using the final Patchstorage version.....Whistling in to the shitty headphones mic between mouthfuls of dinner 🤪sorry about all the TV bleed in to the mic 🤫! I’ll do legit video & some instructions ASAP...
Sketchiest demo but vaguely starts to turn in to something around 3:40secs onward... Really fun patch for finding happy accident loops/textures this way....
Cool, I love stuttering, glitchy, loopy, delay, mangled stuff. Not on everything but on the right thing it brings some great randomness, and unpredictability to a track. Thanks @childofthecorndog
@childofthecorndog thanks for this patch, really interesting but I’m a bit lost. Please do a tutorial video or leave a few bread crumbs of instructions for us to follow. Always appreciate your stuff, way out there and very cool.
@childofthecorndog you are always the best. Thanks so much.
Nice feedback, thanks all & you’re welcome ✌️
Sorry slow on the instructions/video @RJB, made some tweaks for a v2 that I’m gonna flip with the current Patchstorage version later today, has some extra toys in it so I held back on video/instructions. By tonight hopefully...
Sounds good, looking forward to the tweaks
Sorry slow on this! Had the v2 tweaks in place a few days but no time to iron them out. Testing mode 1 atm. Bunch of new stuff...buttons for different buffer patterns, delay stuff, fixed some volume issues.....Each mode’s a deeper cave by itself now...the three of them together = 🕳
Aimless/slow test video below. I’ll film something real + instructions when it’s good to go 🏄♂️Thanks for patience ✌️
WTF? I have no idea what you have here? Looking forward to messing with it, thank-you for your continued support.
Great and fun patch!!
Trying the current version and mode 1 seem to be a vanilla looper?? Buffer and other options does nothing, right? Thanks!
@childofthecorndog how are you going with the new version?? 😍
Yes, we need this!
That would be awesome
Sorry been slow on this! Patch is done but still needs instructions/video...hopefully this wknd 🤞
No worries, do ur thing, we are just eager to give it a go. Thanks for the work. Cheers!
Anyone know if any more tutorials were made explaining Shards? Looks like the kind of drambo module I’d really like to get my head around. @childofthecorndog @Poppadocrock
I’ve been playing with this and it’s quite fun, but I was wondering if there really is no manual, as it would be awesome to have some tips to use Sharks in a more precise way. @childofthecorndog
This is fun, great module!!
