Thunderbolt on 2021 Pro ipad
Chaps, sometimes, the custom ports companies use on their gadgets are just customs of usb..
When we talk about the new thunderbolt port on 2021 iPad pro... Can it accept usb input? Is usb-C? Or is it just a completely different shape and therefore to hell with usb...
Ergo, is it... Re-buy all your accessories again time...
Ps-- will they ever, ever, ever improve hdmi TV support. My thoughts are snowball, and hell on that one.

It’s USB-C, don’t need to re-buy anything
As @yug said it's a USB-C connector. What is compatible with it will depend on the accessory. It should take everything that works with the current Airs and Pros. The specs for the port are that it's a Thunderbolt/USB 4 port. So, it'll support DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 3, USB 4, and USB 3.1.
It should be able to support the hardware for anything that runs on the M1 Macs. One of the open questions is if they will enable the ability to get third party drivers to take advantage of it though. I kinda doubt this will happen, but I'm hoping for a surprise at WWDC.
