Favorite options for learning Final Cut Pro?

I'm thinking about diving into learning Final Cut Pro, both for my gear reviews and some other projects I have lined up. I started on iMovie and currently have been using Screenflow for the last few years, but I feel like it's time to step up to something a bit more fully-featured. Or not, who knows, maybe my current method is fine for me. Either way, I'm planning on diving in soon :s

Anyone care to share any recent and current tutorials that they found useful, paid or otherwise? I know I can trawl YouTube to get the basics, but wondering if there's anything out there a bit better that people felt was worth the money. Or free, if that's an option too.

Thanks.

Since you have a familiarity with iMovie, you’re already ahead of the game. Frankly, I’d recommend YouTube videos over instruction manuals these days: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=final+cut+pro+training+lessons

  • I actually think the Lynda / Linkedin Learning tutorials are really efficient at getting you at the controls and moving along with them.

Ripple Training has great free videos on YouTube: here’s a playlist.

  • Thanks!

  • Can I throw DaVinci Resolve into the mix. My personal favorite :D.

Ah, yes. Ripple Training… I could not for the life of me remember the name of that company until you brought them up.
