iPads have two sides, one made of metal and one made of glass. I forget which is the right one to use, but if you find your iPad is unresponsive, try flipping it over to see if the other side works better.

See, I said you were good.

  • The Assistive touch button can be useful too.

I’ve customized it to bring up spotlight over any screen not just on desktop with doble tap on it.
Also, Siri help me when the assistive touch button can be an obstacle, so I say “Hey Siri, little dot” (Oye Siri, puntito) in Spanish and the button disappear lol

  • iPads have a creativity booster switch.

Just go into settings, right at the top of the main screen, it’s the one with the little airplane, flip it on and prepare to have your creativity boosted as there’s no outside distractions, no annoying notifications, no INTERNET!

Pro tip: WiFi can be enabled separately while your device is in airplane mode.

  • @Atlesbe, what, kindly, is Assistive Touch?

This video from Apple support can explain better than me, my English sometimes fails.

Another “tip” ala “BT!” style…use ivory player app for y t be videos…

  • About ivory player is not about downloading things… is for this, and more…

  • Here, in the wiki page https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=memory_reset there are instructions to reset and clear memory. I’ve read in somewhere a long time ago that you need to be in a stock app while you are doing it.

Anyone can confirm this, please? I always do this way.

Hi @Atlesbe, it's advisable to force-close all apps before performing a memory reset. I do this before working with music apps like AUM and Audiobus and AUv3s.

Regarding the virtual Home button, for iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 its location within Settings has changed:
    1. Create a virtual Home button using AssistiveTouch: Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and turn on AssistiveTouch. You can Customize Top Level Menu. A virtual Home button appears on-screen. Two screenshots of my preferred settings are below.
    2. Here's the old wiki link: https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=memory_reset
    3. Here's the updated instructions: https://www.mobigyaan.com/how-to-force-clear-ram-on-your-iphone-ipad

You should be at the home screen. You should force-quit all apps before doing the memory reset as well, to be extra sure.

[edit. Beat to the punch by @ocelot 😎)

  • I say this because I’ve read about the stock app, I will do the new way for me from now.
    Thanks both!

They generally make musicians more sociable and willing to discuss politely and intelligently compared to their desktop counterparts.

See KVR Audio or Gearslutz for proof.

  • 3-finger gestures (iPadOS 13 and above):
    1. Highlight some text, then using 3 fingers - swipe inwards to copy the highlighted text.
    2. To paste the copied text, using 3 fingers - swipe outwards.
    3. To bring up the context menu (photo below) - copy some text, then tap and hold using 3-fingers, but try to tap in an empty area. Undo, redo, cut, copy, paste are available.

Don’t you hate how when you swipe up to switch apps and you can’t avoid playing a key or selecting the master pad in Drambo?
The solution is Assistive Touch. Set it up just so:

BONUS: works great with Apple Pencil—way fewer smudges.

  • If you have an iPad without a physical home button, set your “three button click” accessibility shortcut to bring up the virtual home button. With this shortcut you can still do memory resets after each session in about 5 seconds to kill any nagging IAA zombies. 😎
