Core Audio issues with 14.5 (and 14.5.1)
Hi all
Having a slightly odd issue with my Air 4 whilst working with my music.
All is working fine when attached to my Focusrite audio interface.
However once disconnected from it the iPad occasionally refuses to play audio. For instance this evening I was playing through a track in Audioshare and it stopped half-way through and wouldn't play any more.
I've had similar issues in Nanostudio 2 and Cubasis where the iPad just won't start the transport.
A reboot of the iPad normally resolves the issue.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this and if so, did you find a fix? I'm trying to work out how to send a bug report to Apple but no real idea what I need to be sending to them.
Cheers
Si

Hi @swfarrington . Please identify your iPad model. And see if this thread seems to apply. It seems to be some new interaction between recent devices and iPadOS 14.5.
This site is where you report iPad bugs, problems, etc. Folks feel it's ineffective, but at least it lets them know. Best if you can reproduce it with GarageBand.
Hi, as per the details above it's an Air 4 (2020 model, 256gb). Cheers for the bug report link. I spoke to their online chat and they want me to factory reset my device which is unlikely to work. But hey!
I too have this issue on 14.5.1, on an iPod touch 7 I use for lessons, and it was a clean install. Sigh.
I've just done a clean install (losing a couple of old apps - aaargh!). The crackle-fest issue that others have had seems to have appeared now which I didn't experience before. What a load of rubbish. Apple seem to have totally dropped the ball with iOS 14. Off to send another bug report.
