looking to buy a Novation Launchpad X. Anyone using directly with their iPad?
Would love to get feedback on how you like it and how you use it!

Love it.
Seriously get it or any of the variations of the Launchpads.
They are fun. 😏
I must add, I've been busy launching
loads of stuff using the LP X and dRambo.
there are a fair number of discussions of it Launchpad's of all flavors to be found in past forum threads: mini, X, Pro, etc
I recommend using the forum's search function. recently, a lot of people have been using them with Atom 2 and LK...but there are lots of other uses for them (including with Novation's Launchpad app).
I would actually recommend getting this pair: akai Midimix with the Apc mini
Spring for the pro if you can. Usually novation sells their b stock on reverb for about 70$ more than a new X. Same warranty as a new device and I’ve never had any issues with them. (All of mine were more like b stock packaging not fit for retail)
yay! thanks for this feedback!
Does the apc mini have an editor. Think Id need to map half to transpose drum kits and half to transpose generative melodies. So colour coding like the launchpad, ideally. Half a colour. The other half a colour. Midi channel per pad. Either map every pad to a note or maybe better. The device have octave transpose on the device. Like a nanokey but midi channel per pad. To create two midi channels. Half and half from the 64 pads.
I know the launchpad can. Checked the editor. Not sure about the octave thing though on launchpad. A physical octave +/- like a nanokey. Anyway. Its just to gain mappable volumes for drums to be better than a launchpad mini. Even though drums have a mute and solo. Not sure if you also need volumes. Maybe so if playing live. I think iv 9 drums now also.
No worries.
I've got lights flashing and everything.
It's so much fun.
Don’t think so…but I was thinking for the integration with Lk and not sure about Atom2. Depends for what tasks you plan to use the Lp. > @sigma79 said:
X is great, but depending on the iPad, you might need a USB hub, since older iPads don't provide enough power. If I could go back, might get Pro instead.
Thanks Sergiu.
