Drambo Mfx as AU insert in cb3

I am encountering some odd behavior around this discussions title. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Or if what I am trying to do can’t be done? Try this… create a midi track in cb3 using any microlog instrument. Route an external midi controller to the channel. Then add Drambo Mfx as an insert to the channel and add a Midi monitor module. Then select that same track as the midi input source (in the little box with and M a curved arrow and an A) When you play the controller you see the notes appearing in the drambo midi monitor. This is the behavior I would expect. Now start the cb3 transport and play the controller again. Drambo stops receiving all midi. Even after you stop the transport, that drambo instance can no longer receive midi no matter what you do.

I was hoping to be able to use drambo to do some audio processing of the track output driven by cc’s recorded in the track. But as soon as I hit record midi disconnects from Drambo.

Any help is appreciated.

Comments

  • Does this happen in other DAWs?

  • Don’t have any others besides ns2 and that has its own midi issues. Seems like it’s pretty specific to internal midi routing in cb3. Drambo works fine until I start cb3 transport. I’d like to know if this behavior is repeatable by someone else. Don’t want to call it a bug yet.

I bit more info… I tried same in AE and had same issue. My problem is getting both midi and audio into drambo as an AU at the same time. Drambo as a midi effect sees the midi but not the audio. Drambo as an Mfx insert sees the audio but not the midi.
What I want to do is record an internal synth track in cb3, and route both the audio and midi from that track into another track with drambo. And then process the audio controlled by the midi.
Is this possible to do? If so can anyone explain how to get Drambo/cb3 to do it? I’ve been chasing my tail for days.

    Thanks much.
