    Here's a patch I made for a MiRack when I was looking
at different ways to get things syncing together.

    https://patchstorage.com/midi-clock-start-stop/

You can route the output of this patch to whatever port needs midi clock.

Cool, thank you. I'm a total MiRack novice but that seems to be a great tool for this type of thing as I don't need to learn mozaic code and can just wire things together, plus it seems to see the usb midi clients just fine when loaded in AUM. Now I need to work out how to multiply the clock signal in mirack as I think it's sending out 1PPQN rather than 24 or whatever I need as my synths are seeing approx 5bpm rather than 120

    No problem.
I don't have Mozaic and I needed to do a
similar thing in regards to sending midi clock out.
It's why I put it together.
I haven't used that patch in awhile as I've been dRambo focused.
Have a look at the clock module, you can adjust the multipliers using 'Ratio'.
It can output three different clocks.

Same, more or less. I have the Mackie 1202 going into an iConnect iCA4+. This lets me hook up a Max, an iPad, or both.

I gave up on AUM in these cases. Too much futzing, and something would always go wrong. Now I record any iPad instruments (like Thumbjam) into Ableton.

I also have a patchbay before the Mackie, so I do most of my routing there. I can quickly connect an OP-1 and sample from the iPad, for example.

I do definitely see the benefit of having a hybrid 'dumb hardware mixer' and 'smart AUM mixer' combo. I'm pondering on whether I can actually achieve this with the Tascam Model 12 acting as mixer and audio interface into the ipad at the same time. In theory the lower fader and EQ part of each channel can switch between being linked to the channel input, the output of the built in multitrack recorder or the USB audio interface. I'd need to give up 2 of the input channels on the Tascam if I wanted to route the AUX sends into the ipad, but that'd still leave me with 8 channels in. I think this might just work :)

Work in progress, all wired up now that I have the remaining pieces of the puzzle (the MOTU UltraLite mk5 and the Launchpad Mini). All’s left is the AUM setup, and then waiting on Loopy Pro for the 2nd deck on the Faderfox DJ3.

This all routes over to an interface on an iMac running Ableton for recording/streaming.

I use 2 (usb)midicontrollers, connected to the hostports of an iC mioXM, to send midi to the iPad, Octatrack and 2 hardware synths. the iPad is connected to a Presonus iTwo interface which is midiwired to the mioXM 5pin midiport in&out. At the moment the iPad receives midi from the 2 midicontrollers only, I try to keep it simple.., and sends midi to the 2 hardware synths.
OT and the synths, all midiwired in/out to the remaining 5pin ports of the mioXM, mainly receive midi.
in AUM I like to use (Sugarbytes) Drumcomputer, GR-16 and Egoist for audio; Thesys and Rozeta to midisequence the external synths, Atom pianoroll2 to trigger presets and some Sugarbytes/Audiodamage/Eventide/RX950 fx.
    Octatrack has 4 audio inputs:
Input A and B is IPad (Presonus iTwo), input C is DSI Mopho synth and D is an hardware fx return (Zen Delay). the OT main outs are connected to the 2nd synth, Virus ti snow audio input, which then acts as the main output.
The setup is new and I still have to make some improvements but it‘s already working fine and it‘s great fun to play around.
I want to change the midifighter64 to a novation launchcontrol xl, so I have faders for volumecontrol and maybe play the external synth‘s audio through the ipad aswell (presonus itwo inputs).
With the Launchcontrol XL faders I want to control volumes of the AUM audio devices and some tracks of the OT.
AUM displays a global latency of 1.27ms.
I also like to run Djay pro AI standalone synced to AUM with Ableton Link...

That's a cool set of gear! What are you using for sequencing? I'm interested to see how you set up AUM and the Launch Control XL

Nice! so many cool setups I see with an Octatrack at the centre. I've been trying hard to not need one for a while and plan to create a similar functionality with the Deluge and Drambo, but I do recognise the benefit of having a dedicated device that just does the job.

I ended up switching to a hybrid setup with my Mackie 1202 + AUM. My iPad isn’t always in my studio, and I wanted to reduce friction. I have the Mackie’s AUX sends -> audio interface -> AUM for cool f/x chains, and the Mackie’s main outs -> interface -> AUM for recording. I also have the iPad -> audio interface -> Mackie channel strip so I can add AU instruments into the mix. With this configuration, I can decide which mixer to route my signals through depending on what I need.

Thanks, that method of intermediate mixer as the primary interface with AUM behind it doing the more complex stuff in a simpler way does seem to make a lot of sense. I really enjoy that with my Tascam at the moment. I can just flick it on and if I want to play about with a minimal setup with no computer involved it's all just there. The only mixer I can see that would kind of fit the bill is a Mackie 1604 VLZ4 They've got enough channels, sends, aux buss and stereo returns to work with everything, then it's all 1 for 1 hands on control too

A cheap patchbay will extend this setup a bunch. Will probably need to spend more on cables than the patch bay but such is nerd life.
