I purchased it in the past and use it regularly. When I saw this message, I went to the App Store. There were two Auria Pros, one appeared to be the one I had with an Update button. The other showed a purchase price of $24.99USD. Are they different?

They sure look the same. The version history shows them both at 2.30. If they are the same, I wonder how many refunds they'll have to process because folks think this is a new paid version?

Perhaps you saw Auria (audio only version) which is $24.99 and Auria Pro?

Yes. So the purchase one is Auria, not Auria Pro, which I owned. Still, I think that will confuse some.

FWIW, these two have coexisted for years. This isn't something new.

    Yes, now I remember. True.

2.3 used 43% battery last night and the app was closed. Anyone else?

No problems here with battery or the app not really quitting when force-quit.

Did you launch Auria directly (by tapping its icon) or indirectly via AUM of Audiobus?

Yes, launched directly. And then closed ( @wim ) as in not running in the background.

As @wim said, that sounds like an OS glitch and not an Auria glitch.

Probably. Not sure what to do with that though. Seems to be only AP doing it. What do you suggest? Contact Apple about it?

So, it’s happened more than once? If only once then that is no indication of a bug. Glitches happen. If they’re not repeatable then there’s no use trying to report to anyone.

If it’s repeatable and only happens with Auria Pro then it could be an Auria Pro bug that should be reported to Wave Machine Labs. I doubt it though.

If it’s just the old glitchy IAA app ghost problem, then you can try reporting to Apple, but it will be a waste of time. This has been a known shortcoming forever. The only sure answer is to reset memory after audio sessions as I described above. Or to reboot your device.

Its worth keeping an eye out to see if anyone else sees this though of course.

@wim Only once. But I'd only opened it once. I just opened it again and got the crash window so I wrote some details and sent that.

    I don't use IAA.

I have noticed that closing Auria down is not always successful at the moment on my iPad, can’t say if this is new 2.3 behaviour. If I close via swiping up and shut the app then sometimes the little red microphone is still running in the top right of the screen even though there are apparently no apps running. If I click on it then it tries to open Auria, which hangs and needs force closing. The app then seems to end properly.

Edit: no IAA running from inside Auria either

  • Just to be clear, IAA hosts can leave ghost processes even if you don’t open any IAA apps.

    Well that's just great. :s

Hmmm. Happy with the update, but then again.. I can’t get the MIDI to work it seems (Air 2020, both on upgrade to IOS 14.6 and version before). Not even the ‘floating’ keyboard seems to be able to control a MIDI instrument (let alone controlling MIDI via MIDI AUs in the channel strip). It also doesn’t record notes played directly on the keyboard in the piano roll.

Anyone else experience this or am I missing something obvious? (in the previous version MIDI worked fine via the known workarounds (separate track for controlling MIDI app, which also doesn’t work now).

PS: on waiting list Auria forum

Edit: recording from piano roll keyboard works now, not clear why..

Edit2: - it does record but plays back very problematically

    • Auria has confirmed to be working on it and to release a bugfix soon.

No problems with MIDI here. Are you enabling the track for midi input? A few versions ago, a glyph (a note icon) was added to use for enabling live midi input . With the built-in keyboard you also have to aim it at the track you want to receive the input.

If those don't solve your issue, post some pictures to show the setup for the tracks that aren't working.

Thank you! In the meantime Corey at Auria has confirmed the issue. He also confirmed they are working on a new update/bugfix which will be out very soon..

So I just wait a little..

Interesting. I wonder if it is OS version related. I am running iOS 13.7. Maybe it is an iOS 14 issue?

  • I haven‘t used auria for ages and i forgot a few things:how can i change the samplerate of a project? And can i set audio inputs from an external interface to mono?Auria wants me to select stereo channels only (1+2,3+4 etc)

Did you create a mono track? If the track you created is stereo, Auria will have you choose a stereo input.

Here are screenshots of what input source selection looks like depending on whether a track is mono or stereo

  • Stupid me,of course i overlooked the“mono“ switch while creating a new track 👍 Do you have a tip for changing the SR as well?

When you initially create a “New Project”, one of the options is choosing the sample rate. I think once you do that you can’t go back on the fly, so you need to commit to a sample rate from the very beginning.

That‘s how remember it but the option is not there when creating a new project. My interface is recognized (without interface it’s the same) by auria,no other apps running and i did restart auria and the ipad as well🤔

    M1 ipad pro,latest OS…

edit:nevermind i found it.I used a template and then this option dont show up…

    Thanks 👍
