Multitrack DAW problem
Hello everyone
I have recently purchased MT DAW and although I like its simplicity I am unable to hear my recordings unless I use headphones. For example I have a small unfinished project with 2 tracks. In the 1st track I have DM1 as IAA and in the 2nd track I have Arctic Pro as IAA again. When I recorded them I could hear them after I checked "Input Monitor" (and armed the tracks ofc). Next morning I opened the MT DAW and I couldn't hear anything from my ipad's speaker, I can only hear the recording by using headphones. Any solution or anyone else experiencing this problem? Maybe the solution is simple and right in front of me although I'm pretty sure I tried everything but again I'm very new to this so any help is welcomed. Thanks.

Try resetting your device by holding down home and power button simultaneously, until you see apple logo.
I just found out that I do have sound from my ipad speakers but only if I raise volume to max and the sound is very very low. I will try the reset solution and let you know. Thank you.
Ok I did the reset but no solution. The problem is still there. I have already reinstalled MT DAW btw.
Have you tried other apps?
It sounds fine through headphones, just not through the speaker?
Doesn't really seem like a MTDAW issue- as suggested, how do other apps behave?
Yeap I have also tried iSEM and Drumjam (both as IAA).
Forget about IAA and MTDAW for a minute - what if you just open a synth on its own and play it? What happens then?
If I open a synth and MT DAW is closed everything sounds fine. If i open a synth while MT DAW is still open in the background I can't hear the synth.
Another thing. When I record for example Magellan in MT DAW using AB, everything is fine. When I quit everything and re-open MT DAW to hear what I recorded I have no sound.
One more thing about IAA. Yesterday I could hear IAA while recording when I turned on Input Monitor. Today the same thing exactly has no sound. I wonder if I have a chance for a refund from Apple.
I had the exact same issue with Auria (it was fixed in the last update). One of the devs, Rim, spent a lot of time researching the problem, which for some reason didn't affect everyone, and finally tracked it down to a change Apple made in iOS 6 and later. You can read his findings in this thread over at the Auria forum:
http://auriaapp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=11939&start=15
Unfortunately, if it is the same problem (and it sounds like it is), it will require an update to the app similar to the fix implemented in Auria.
I'm sure that it is MT DAW because I have also Cubasis, Auria, MTS Studio, BM2 and almost every well known ios music app out there and never had any problem. I have an iPad 4 and the latest ios (7.1.1).
@BoWeavil, if it is the latest MT Daw version, just tap Menu and select "Speaker Out".
Hi, yes I have the latest version but I can't find such an option in Menu. There is a "Speaker Out" option in ipad's "Settings"-> Multitrack DAW but it is for iphone version. Anyway I tried this but didn't work. I also posted in dev's forums, I hope for a solution cause I really like MT DAW.
Doing further experiments with various combinations the problem seems to be that the speakers output is way too low. The "I have no sound" statement is wrong, it's just that the sound is so low that I can barely hear it.
This is exactly what was happening with me and Auria; extremely low output from speaker. I did find that if I launched Audiobus and added Auria as the output, volume was normal. May be worth a try.
Have already tried this and it is the only time that I have a proper speaker output
Definitely sounds like the same iOS Core Audio Measurement Mode issue then.
You helped me by accident, thank you! You wrote "measurement mode" and i remembered that there is an option to deactivate it in ipads "Settings". I did and now it sounds ok!
"iPad Settings"---> MT DAW --> turn off "Measurement Mode" for anyone that will experience the same problem.
Perfect! That is what they added to Auria, but I don't have MT DAW so didn't know it had that option.
Great problem-solving thread. Good job.
