I think if you use AUM, this is possible with its midi matrix and peripheral devices setting.

  • I don't use AUM at the moment, I wanted an app like Midimittr but using Wi-Fi and not Bluetooth

  • WiFi instead of Bluetooth?
You don't really want that - except you don't mind substantial latency.

but no! then Midimittr allows you to connect two iPads via Bluetooth, I was looking for a similar thing but via WiFi

rs2000 knows what he's talking about and AUM is what you need. That's a main use case around here.

The Network Session virtual midi port can be used (I think you need something like MIDIFire to create an active network midi session so that it will work). Do note that such a wifi connection will have more latency than bluetooth midi.

@dav30383 As others have said, you do not want wifi. There is too much latency and inconsistent timing, no matter how good your wifi network is.

Bluetooth midi is effective, and you do not need midimittr or any other third party app. Almost all apps that can accept midi have a BLE Midi connection dialog. Once you connect, the other device shows up like any other midi device.

Trust me. If you want to go over the air, BLE Midi is the only way to go. Xequence 2 can do it.

If the apps you want to control don't have a BLE Midi connect dialog, Korg offers the BLE Midi Connect app that can make the connection. This is a bit different that midimittr in that all it does is establish the connection whereas I believe midimittr has other parts to it. Midimittr can be used as well, of course.
