"Occasional Play" - A second attempt at Minimal Techno done in Gadget
Today, I have a new one for everybody to enjoy. A bit more Minimalism for all you Minimal Techno heads out there. As usual, this was produced in Gadget and mastered in Cubasis 3. Here's the breakdown of the six instruments I used.
The kickdrum is Tokyo. The "hi hat" that comes in late into the track is also Tokyo. The "ding" sound I used instead of a clap is Dublin. The droning bass sound is Memphis, the bass pattern sound is Berlin, and the higher synth is Pompei.
The plugins I used to master the track are my usual standard MagicDeathEyeStereo, BarkFilter, and TB Barricade. Cheers and enjoy. 😃

Awesome stuff, mate! Love the vibe you been vibing
Ugggg…. Your going to make me dust off Gadget! 😁. Nice track!!!!
A Gadget polymath, is our @jwmmakerofmusic
Thanks mate. I absolutely love what I've been vibing myself. Now that I'm getting to understand Minimalism in general, it's more addictive than drugs.
Thanks mate. Greatly appreciated. Yeah, dust off Gadget and give it a run. You'd be surprised at the tempo and time signature options you can set per scene. "Occasional Play" is set to a standard 4/4 time signature, but "Bad Connection" was in 5/4, and "Painted Infection" had Its parts running in various time signatures.
😁 Cheers, and thanks. I can't believe it was almost a month ago that the "does anyone else feel sorry for ditching Gadget" thread was made that inspired me to redownload it. I've made some pretty serviceable standard EDM tracks, and that goofy "What Did I Do" track, but in my opinion "Painted Infection" is the best fucking thing I've ever produced in Gadget, if not on iOS, if not in my 20 years' history of producing tracks.
The transition to the “woooow” and the drums around 4:45 on is my favorite part.
