ReVolt - Turn Any Battery Powered Device into USB Powered

edited June 2021 in Other

Just saw this video on YouTube, it looks like an amazing, versatile, useful, and environmentally friendly invention. Really great idea here. Not sure where to get them, but take a look. Hainbach made a comment about using them so I’m sure it’s well worth a look. It seems they thought of every type of battery configuration as well. If anyone finds purchasing price or availability let us know. Cheers!

Cool idea. Only the cables would be troublesome. Probably easier and cheaper to just buy rechargeable AA's and AAA's
For bigger batteries definitely worth it.

  • I'd be more interested if it worked with more formats, like old analog film cameras, so you could adapt it to anything

I’m not really convinced of this idea. Devices that use batteries are designed to be portable and independent from cables. Since some years there are really good rechargeables, eneloop and copycats. Very low self discharge, long living and well recycleable. I did not buy any disposable batteries at least the last decade.

I already use his MyVolt cables, and for the most part they work pretty well.
I do see what he's trying to do here, but like everyone else here, rechargeable are the way to go. I mean, does it get any more convenient than these:

Dang I’ve never seen those. I’m going to look into these.

That would be cool. From the looks of it they tried to make them quite versatile, but it would be cool if they could fit basically anything.

  • I had one for my Volcas. I think it was just called MyVolt. Only one I never had the option to power all the Volcas. It caused terrible ground hum usually. I might look into it again as it would be nice to do a Volca Suitcase kind of thing using my old Air 2 with it as well.

Theres a billion copanies that make them. They beat having regular rechargables in a charger and swap them out. They hold less of a change than a normal battery due to space taken up by the USB system, but when they're dead, just plug em in anywhere. They recharge pretty quick.

  • Cool. I guess I just never looked into them. Thanks.
